Meanwhile, EarlyGame team will create content for MobileMatters news resource. The outlet marks EarlyGame Group’s fifth game-related project. The company’s other gaming projects include EarlyGame, Obsidian, RiftFeed, and ValorFeed. The last two are focused on Riot Games titles League of Legends and Valorant.

Fabian Furch, Founder of EarlyGame, commented on the announcement:

“We are very pleased to have ESL Gaming on board as we continue to expand our media and entertainment offering to yet more gamers.

Mobile gaming has unparalleled reach, and with the continuing success of our current publications going mobile was the obvious next step. We believe with ESL’s help we can become a global leader in the space, driving the conversation among mobile gamers and bringing it to ever greater audiences.”

What impact can MobileMatters have on mobile esports?

While mobile games are not so popular in Europe and USA, in Asia it’s one of the biggest trends of 2021 and ongoing 2022. There are a lot of titles from battle royales to MOBAs available, so everyone can find something for themselves. Besides, mobile gaming has multiple advantages over regular PC or console gaming.

Firstly, mobile gaming is accessible almost to everyone who has a smartphone and Internet. This allows it to tap a vast part of the audience and even those ones who didn’t play on PC at all. Secondly, gamers can play on mobile almost anywhere, as the device itself is portable and the matches are twice as short compared to regular PC games.

In Asia, mobile esports competitions gather millions of viewers. Organizers even host big LAN tournaments with live audiences and major cash prizes. However, in the rest of the world, this type of esports is still a new thing, that’s why a news outlet that can spread the information about mobile titles and mobile esports can help a lot to grow the fanbase of mobile lovers in the West.
