The actions of the LEC Spring Split 2023 are already underway. The first day ended after the five scheduled matches were played, with Excel Esports, SK, Vitality, Astralis, and G2 starting on the right foot with a victory.

It was a gray day for the Spanish teams, as they all fell on this first day of competition. In addition, what we all expected to see in the “new” Fnatic turned out to be more of the same, as they could not beat Excel Esports.

Excel Esports gives a new blow to Fnatic at the beginning of the Spring Split

Along with all the excitement surrounding the start of a new split, the LEC began its spring season with the debut of a Spanish player in the top tier. With Fnatic, Oscar “Oscarinin” Muñoz debuted in the LEC, starting his way to the orange atonement. But, unfortunately, an Excel Esports would spoil the Spaniard’s debut, so there would not be much to celebrate or even fight against.

In the opening match of the LEC, EXCEL Esports defeated a disappointing Fnatic squad. In a game between veteran Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu and up-and-comer Oscarinin, EXCEL prevailed in the battle between British organizations. The Romanian player caused problems for Fnatic, who also failed to show a great connection in Summoner’s Rift.

A poor performance overall for a Fnatic team still seems to need a lot of improvement. The setback resulted from some mistakes made by Martin “Rekkles” Larsson and Ivan “Razork” Martin in crucial fights against Odoamne and his K’Sante.

SK Gaming comes from behind in a spectacular match against Team BDS

The teams have acknowledged that the new LEC format makes every game more valuable than before the Winter Split. SK Gaming overcame a significant gold deficit to defeat Team BDS and claimed a crucial victory. The German organization again excelled, and their pieces worked very well together.

In a game that has received some praise, SK Gaming managed to get back on track. Teamwork helped the German squad recover from a poor start to the match. SK tactically dominated the match, showing why they were one of the top four players of the entire Winter.

Team Vitality crushes the runner-up of the Winter Split

After Oscarinin and Razork’s losses to Fnatic, Javier “Elyoya” Prades also suffers a defeat in the LEC. MAD Lions received a severe beating in their LEC Spring Split debut. Team Vitality overcame the Spaniards with unexpected aplomb. The lions, who were unable even to put up a fight against Vitality, could do little.

Elias “Upset” Lipp returned to the LEC with a victory for Team Vitality. Despite being out for a few months, the German shooter played a flawless match with Caitlyn and showed an incredible level.

Astralis beats KOI in the debut of LIDER

On this first day, the rookies seem to be winning. All the additions to the LEC have succeeded, except for Oscarinin’s case in Fnatic. After adding Adam “LEADER” Ilyasov Astralis, they gave a hard blow to KOI and won their first match. Thus, KOI once again starts the year with a loss and joins the Spanish teams that were defeated on this first day.

Astralis easily defeated a KOI team that was still searching for a game concept that maximized their team’s ability.

G2 Esports debuts with a crushing victory over Team Heretics

G2 Esports enters the Spring Split as they finish the Winter, sweeping their opponent in a complete display of dominance. After winning the Winter Championship, the Samurai made a brutal entrance into the LEC servers. Team Heretics is destroyed by G2 Esports at the end of Day 1, providing enough justification to make all competitors fearful.

Samurai triumphs and destroys Team Heretics, proving their superiority by a significant margin. Finally, the match between G2 and their opponent culminated in an impressive combo from G2 and a Pentakill to Steven “Hans Sama” Liv’s Draven in a fierce battle.

A forgettable day for the Spanish participants in the LEC ended with Team Heretics’ inability to resist and their defeat to G2.
