On February 11, popular Twitch content creator Disguised Toast hosted a Watch Party for the VALORANT match between G2 Esports and BreakTruh. In the lead-up to the broadcast, the streamer offered details about a potential sponsored segment on his channel.

After that, Disguised Toast mentioned that he had recently turned down a $70,000 sponsorship deal for a video game that is one of the most popular video games today, none other than Hogwarts Legacy.

Popular content creator Disguised Toast claimed that he would accept immediately if offered that kind of money to play another video game. The streamer said:

“I recently turned down a $70k sponsor for a video game many people have been talking about. They were like, ‘Hey, do you want $70k to play this video game?’ I’m like, ‘Oh, damn! $70k? What game is it? Hmm? Which one? Hmm? Oh, that one! Damn! God! Um, any other games?”

As we observed and heard in the video, the streamer continued to talk about the issue in the broadcast. He made a somewhat amusing comment that he must do something to compensate for the loss of the $70,000 contract he had turned down. Furthermore, Disguised Toast said that just because he didn’t accept it doesn’t mean it’s a negative comment about the game:

“So, guys, me not accepting that is not a commentary on anything. That’s all I’m going to say. I don’t want people to say like, ‘Oh, Toast! Let me put you on this pedestal.’ It’s a complicated thing, but I turned it down.”

“Doesn’t mean I’m better than anyone. That doesn’t mean I’m worse than anyone. It’s more of a, I like sharing things with you guys.”

The streamer took it upon himself to start reading other comments about his recent statements, and one of them referred to him as “caring too much about public opinion because he’s 31,” to which the streamer responded:

“Disguised Toast caring about public opinion? I don’t know about that one. Yeah, that’s the problem with talking about stuff like that. Right? Even just saying that people are already like, ‘I can’t believe you gave him the public opinion.’ Everyone will twist and turn things no matter what you say about something like that.”

Moreover, the video clip was shared on YouTube and immediately went viral, with many people reacting to what the streamer had said. There are currently more than 76 comments on the YouTube clip, and it should be noted that it is not on the streamer’s official channel.

Many comments agreed with the position taken by the streamer stating that “Everyone deserves the freedom to express themselves. If you try to take up all the shelf space, that’s going too far. It’s a public nuisance.” On the other hand, others stressed that this video game in question no longer needed to be promoted thanks to its excellent boom in recent weeks.
