The winds of change are blowing through the fields of Europe, as professional League of Legends teams gear up for a new season with fresh faces and revamped rosters. The race to the top is on, and the competition is fierce. But which teams will rise to the challenge, and which ones will falter under the pressure?

Join us as we rank the top contenders in European League of Legends, starting from the 10th-ranked team and working our way up to the top spot. Will old favorites reign supreme, or will newcomers shake up the standings? Let the games begin!

10th- SK Gaming

SK Gaming is a team that has struggled to find consistent success in the LEC, and their new roster is unlikely to change that in the upcoming season.

In the top lane, Irrelevent is a stable player who excels while playing tanks or bruisers like Gnar, Renekton, and Ornn. However, he has struggled when entrusted with carry champions like Jax and Gwen and has often failed to convert his lead into a victory for his team.

The jungle is a bit of a wild card with Markoon, who can be a solid player but also has a tendency to make mistakes that cost his team, such as failing to land a single ultimate on Sejuani during the playoffs in LEC Summer 2022.

The mid lane is a position that SK could definitely have improved, as Sertuss has shown strong play on assassins but has weaknesses in his overall laning and teamfighting. It’s worth noting that veteran mid laner Febiven is currently playing in SK Academy and could potentially join the main roster, which could improve the team’s chances in this area.

The bottom lane duo of Exakick and Doss has potential, with Exakick being a talented ADC who has made a name for himself in regional leagues and is known for his aggressive laning style. He has the potential to break into the top 6 ADCs in the LEC by the end of the year, but it’s worth noting that he may not have the same level of authority while playing his best champions like Kalista and Draven against stronger opponents. Doss, on the other hand, has had a very troubled career and his off-game antics have left a bad taste among many supporters. He claims to have changed, but his toxic behavior in solo queue games has been well-documented. As a player, Doss shows glimpses of his peak and often plays very well in the laning phase, but it remains to be seen if he can maintain that level of play in a competitive setting.

Overall, SK lacks a strong teamfighting presence and their strategy and playstyle may struggle to hold up against the top contenders in the LEC. Until the team can address these weaknesses, they are likely to remain near the bottom of the standings.

9th- Team BDS

Team BDS has long struggled to find their footing in the LEC, with a roster that boasts great talent but also a fair share of unpredictability. Leading the charge in the top lane is Adam, a player whose career has been as tumultuous as his playstyle. He began his journey with KCorp, but eventually found himself at the helm of Fnatic before facing off-camera issues with management. He joined BDS but was benched for the summer, now Adam has returned to Team BDS with a fire in his belly and a desire to prove himself. On the Rift, he excels on champions that allow him to carry, but his reliance on his jungler’s attention can leave his teammates vulnerable to enemy attacks.

The jungle position is held by Sheo, a promising young player with a vast champion pool at his disposal. Though he has shown glimpses of his potential, it may be too early to expect him to consistently carry games at the highest level.

In the mid lane, NUCLEARINT is a player with a high ceiling but inconsistent performances. On his best days, he can dominate the Rift, but his team has struggled to give him the resources he needs to truly shine.

The bottom lane is home to Crownshot and Labrov, two players with the potential to excel but also their fair share of weaknesses. Crownshot is known for his desire for resources and can struggle when playing a more supportive role. Labrov, on the other hand, is a solid SoloQ player but lacks decisiveness in pro games. He excels on a few champions, but his weakness as an enchanter has held him back in the past.

Overall, Team BDS has a roster full of talented players, but their inconsistency and inability to work together as a team has hindered their success in the LEC. As the new season approaches, it remains to be seen if they can turn things around and make a push for the top of the standings.

8th- Astralis

Astralis is a team that has the potential to surprise their opponents in the LEC, but they also have a number of weaknesses that could hold them back. Leading the charge in the top lane is Finn, a player whose steady improvement has been a constant in his career. However, with the departure of an experienced jungler, Finn will be tasked with taking on a leadership role in the top lane, which could prove to be a challenge.

The jungle position is a weakness for Astralis, with 113 being a talented but inconsistent player who may not yet be ready for the demands of the LEC. The mid lane is another area of concern, with Dajor being a solid but unspectacular player who is unlikely to dominate against the best in the world.

In the bottom lane, Kobbe and Jeonghoon have the potential to be a strong duo, with Jeonghoon being the standout player on the roster and a strong playmaker throughout the map. However, Kobbe has struggled to regain his form in recent years and may struggle to hold his own against the top ADCs in the LEC.

Despite these weaknesses, Astralis has the potential to make a splash in the upcoming season. Jeonghoon, in particular, will need to show consistent performances if the team hopes to make it to the playoffs. If he can do so, and if the rest of the team can step up and improve their consistency, Astralis could be a force to be reckoned with. However, it will be an uphill battle for this team, and they will need to bring their best every game if they hope to make it to

7th- Heretics

Team Heretics is a team that has the potential to surprise their opponents in the LEC, with a roster full of promising talent. Leading the charge in the top lane is Evi, a seasoned veteran with a fantastic personality and a steady hand. Though his advanced age may be a concern, Evi is more than capable of holding his own against the bottom half teams in the LEC. However, it remains to be seen how he will fare against the likes of Broken Blade and Wunder, two top laners known for their formidable laning phase.

The jungle position is a true strength for Team Heretics, with Jankos being widely regarded as one of the best junglers in the history of the game. His consistency is unparalleled, but this season he will be faced with a new challenge as the primary shot caller for the team. Jankos will need to embrace a more carry-oriented role, similar to his early career, if he hopes to lead Team Heretics to success.

The mid lane is a position of potential for Team Heretics, with Ruby being a talented mage player but with a limited champion pool. If he can expand his repertoire to include assassins, it could give the team a boost, but it remains to be seen if he can execute these champions at a high level.

In the bottom lane, Jackspektra and Mersa have the potential to be a formidable duo. Jackspektra is a highly regarded prospect, known for his skill and potential to carry games. Mersa, on the other hand, is

a reliable and efficient support player who is not afraid to make big plays. Together, these two players have the potential to become a dominant bottom lane duo in the LEC. Jackspektra’s ability to carry games, combined with Mersa’s solid playmaking, could make them a force to be reckoned with. However, it remains to be seen if they can gel as a team and perform consistently throughout the season.

Overall, Team Heretics has a roster full of promising talent, but they will need strong performances from their key players and improved consistency if they hope to make it to the playoffs. It will be up to Jankos to lead the team and guide them to success in the upcoming season. With the right combination of skill and teamwork, Team Heretics has the potential to make a splash in the LEC and surprise their opponents.

6th- KOI Esports

KOI, the reigning champions of the LEC, will struggle to make it to the playoffs this year. Their roster has been weakened by the departure of Odoamne, a player known for his experience and stability. In his place, KOI has turned to Szygenda, a player who has been labeled as the next Wunder but who has a limited champion pool. Szygenda often finds himself playing one-dimensional champions like Renekton, Aatrox, and Gnar, which leaves the team vulnerable to being countered. In contrast, Odoamne was able to play a wide range of champions, which allowed KOI to catch their opponents off guard.

The jungle position is another weakness for KOI, with Malrang having an unconventional playstyle that caught many teams off guard last year. However, by the end of the season, most teams had figured him out and he became a weak link for the team. Without the strong performances of his teammates, it’s likely that Malrang would have been replaced by a stronger jungler this year.

The mid lane is a strong point for KOI, with Larrsen being a reliable player who is constantly improving. The bottom lane is also a strength, with Comp being the best ADC player in Europe last year and Trymbi being a stable support. However, Trymbi can sometimes be a second slow in executing his plays, which can hold the team back.

Overall, KOI has a roster with some strong points, but they also have some significant weaknesses that will make it difficult for them to repeat as champions. It will be an uphill battle for KOI to make it further into the playoffs this year, and they will need to bring their best every game if they hope to succeed.

5th- Excel

Excel has put together a talented roster for the upcoming LEC split, bringing in a number of skilled players from other teams. In the top lane, Excel has secured the services of Odoamne, a player with a vast champion pool and a wealth of experience. Odoamne is sure to be a valuable asset for Excel, providing stability and reliability in the top lane. The jungle position is also in good hands with the acquisition of Xerxe, who was instrumental in Astralis’ resurgence last year. Xerxe’s strong playmaking and ability to lead a team make him a formidable opponent.

The mid lane is a position of strength for Excel, with Vetheo being a mechanically gifted player. However, if Vetheo hopes to break into the upper echelon of mid laners in the LEC, he will need to expand his champion pool significantly. In the bottom lane, Excel has retained Patrik from last year’s roster and added Targamas, who was influential in G2 Esports’ spring split victory last year. Together, Patrik and Targamas have the potential to be a dominant bottom lane duo, capable of carrying games and making plays for the team.

Overall, Excel has assembled a formidable roster that is poised to make a strong showing in the upcoming LEC split. With a mix of experienced veterans and talented up-and-comers, Excel has the potential to make a deep run in the playoffs and challenge for the championship.

4th- MAD Lions

MAD Lions are entering the LEC with something to prove after a disappointing performance at Worlds. The team has retained the core of their roster, with Nisqy and Elyoya leading the charge. This year will be especially crucial for Elyoya, as the success of MAD Lions will largely depend on his performance. He has the potential to be the best jungler in Europe, and this is the year he will need to prove it.

The bot lane sees the return of Carzzy, who was unfairly targeted for Vitality’s failure as a whole last year, but remains a formidable player. He will team up with Hyli, a support known for his aggressive playstyle and infectious energy. Hyli has a lot to prove this year and will be eager to show that he is one of the best supports in the league. This duo has the potential to set the league on fire, but both players will need to bring their A-game if they want to succeed.

In the top lane, MAD Lions have brought in Chasy to replace Armut, who has moved to North America. Chasy is an unproven talent in the LEC, but he has shown promise in other leagues, including a strong performance for X7 at EU Masters. While it’s unclear how he’ll fare on the big stage, MAD Lions will be hoping he can make a splash and help lead the team back to the top of the league.

Overall, MAD Lions have assembled a roster full of talented players who are eager to make a statement in the upcoming split. With the right combination of skill and determination, MAD Lions could make a deep run in the playoffs and restore their reputation as one of the premier teams in the region.

3rd- Fnatic

Fnatic have assembled a roster with a mix of veteran experience and youthful exuberance for the upcoming LEC split. The team is anchored by the return of the king, Rekkles, who will be looking to reclaim his throne as the best ADC in Europe. His performance will be crucial for the success of the team, as will the consistency of Humanoid in the mid lane. Humanoid has had his ups and downs in the regular season, and he will need to step up his game if Fnatic want to compete with the top teams in the league.

The jungle position is occupied by Razork, who has been somewhat inconsistent in his career. Despite this, Fnatic have decided to stick with him for another year, perhaps hoping he will finally reach his full potential. Meanwhile, the bottom lane is completed by veteran academy support Rhuckz and the aforementioned Rekkles.

Fnatic will also be looking for Wunder to bounce back from a disappointing performance at Worlds. The Danish top laner has proven himself as one of the best in the region, and he will need to be at the top of his game if Fnatic want to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Overall, Fnatic have assembled a talented roster with the potential to do great things. It remains to be seen how they will perform on the big stage, but with their mix of experience and youthful energy, they will be a force to be reckoned with in the LEC. However, them winning the Winter split might be a tad bit early, but maybe they can go ahead and win the whole thing.

2nd- G2 Esports

G2 Esports, fresh off a disappointing performance at Worlds, have undergone a major overhaul in the off-season. The team has made upgrades in the bot lane, bringing in the proven duo of Hans Sama and Mikyx. Sama returns to the LEC after a stint in North America, while Mikyx rejoins G2 after a year with Excel. Despite their lack of success as a duo on Misfits, their preexisting synergy will be a valuable asset for G2.

The rest of the team will need to step up and support Caps, who is a given as a top-tier mid laner. In the top lane, Brokenblade will need to make an impact in order for G2 to return to the top of the LEC. The jungle position sees the addition of Yike, who has big shoes to fill after replacing the legendary Jankos. Yike has shown great potential, but he will need to raise his game to the level required by the LEC.

G2 Esports are back and ready to reclaim their throne in the LEC. With a roster stacked with both seasoned veterans and promising young talent, G2 has all the ingredients for a deep playoff run. The team has undergone significant changes in the off-season, and it will be exciting to see how they fare on the big stage. But make no mistake: G2 is a force to be reckoned with, and they are hungry to reclaim their title as kings of the LEC. Get ready for the return of the kings.

1st- Vitality

As the dust settles on another exciting offseason, the stage is set for the return of the European League of Legends Championship Series. With a host of new faces, and old ones in new places, the competition is sure to be fierce.

But among the many talented teams vying for the crown, one stands out as the clear favorite: Vitality. Boasting a roster of proven veterans and promising up-and-comers, they have all the ingredients necessary to claim victory.

Leading the charge is the unstoppable Perkz, a player who needs no introduction. His skill and experience will be crucial in guiding the team to victory. Joining him is the highly-anticipated return of Bo, a player who has spent the past year honing his skills on the bench. If he can replicate the performance he displayed for FPX and in EUW solo queue, he is sure to become one of the premier players in the Western League of Legends scene.

But it’s not just the top side that should have fans excited for Vitality. The addition of Photon, a player with experience in T1 challengers and various academy teams, gives them a formidable top lane presence. And in the bottom lane, Neon and Kaiser are two of the most consistently performing and underrated players in the LEC. With their combined talent and experience, they have the potential to become one of the best bot lanes in the world.

As the split approaches, all eyes will be on Vitality to see if they can live up to the hype and claim the championship. With the right mix of skill and teamwork, there’s no doubt that they have what it takes to be the kings of Europe.
