Champion Updates

Are you ready for the latest and greatest from the world of League of Legends? Patch 14.2 brings some exciting changes to your favorite champions, where each tweak promises to change the gameplay of every match.

Aatrox

  • Deathbringer Stance (Passive): This passive attack has been upgraded to be uncancellable, giving Aatrox a more reliable edge in battles.

Briar

Passive – Crimson Curse

  • Bleed tick interval: The frequency of bleed damage has been doubled, now occurring every 0.5 seconds. This change increases Briar’s damage output in a shorter timeframe, making her more lethal in continuous combat.
  • Bonus healing reduction: The range of bonus healing based on missing health has been lowered from 0-50% to 0-40%. While this seems like a nerf, it’s balanced by an interesting twist – the healing now scales with 0.03% per 100 bonus health per 1% missing health.

Q – Head Rush

  • Damage type shift: Changing from physical to magical damage, this transformation diversifies Briar’s damage profile, potentially making her harder to itemize against opponents.
  • Magic resist reduction: The addition of magic resist reduction (10-20%) to this ability synergizes well with the change to magical damage, amplifying her and her team’s magical damage output against affected targets.
  • On-hit effects application: This new feature allows Briar to leverage additional item effects, further enhancing her combat effectiveness and opening up new itemization paths.

W – Snack Attack

  • Healing adjustment: The base healing percentage is reduced (35-60% to 25-45%), but now it scales with 5% of Briar’s maximum health. This scaling not only compensates for the base reduction but also promotes a tankier playstyle.
  • Damage removal: The previous physical damage component is removed, focusing this ability more on sustain and less on aggression.

Cho’Gath

  • Feast (R): Feast stacks now increase the cast range of this ability, maxing out an impressive 25-range increase.

Fizz

  • Seastone Trident (W): Now, this ability inflicts half its damage to structures, including both hit and DoT effects.

Gragas

  • Drunken Rage (W): Gragas’ destructive capability extends to structures, dealing 50% damages with this ability.

Jax

  • Empower (W) and Grandmaster-At-Arms (R): Both abilities now deal 50% damage to structures, making Jax more formidable in sieges.

Jayce

  • Thundering Blow (E-melee): Adjustments ensure the knockback effect is more consistent, even against dashing opponents.

Katarina

  • Death Lotus (R): This ultimate can now be cast even when disabled, offering Katarina new combat possibilities.

Lulu

  • Glitterlance (Q): Now castable while disabled, this ability enhances Lulu’s versatility in various situations.

Nilah

  • Jubilant Veil (W): This item has an instant cast time now. The “can cast or queue while casting” feature introduces a new level of strategic depth to Nilah’s playstyle. Players can also enjoy the removal of windup cancelation restrictions.

Ornn

  • Call of the Forge God (R): The first cast no longer targets using the minimap, and the second cast is less likely to lock onto allies or minions, offering better control and precision in team fights.

Teemo

  • Base stats: Teemo’s default adaptive force has shifted from AD to AP, influencing his overall damage output and build strategies.

Twisted Fate

Twisted Fate Updates

Base Stats

  • Attack speed: His base attack speed has been reduced from 0.651 to 0.625, slightly slowing down his basic attack rhythm. Furthermore, his attack speed growth per level has been decreased from 3.25% to 3%, affecting his scaling into the late game.

Passive – Loaded Dice

  • Critical strike: A new twist to Twisted Fate’s passive is the ability for it to now critically strike, introducing an element of chance that can significantly impact his gold accumulation over the course of a game.

Q – Wild Cards

  • Damage scaling: This ability now scales with 50% of Twisted Fate’s AD (Attack Damage), a notable change that opens up different build paths, potentially making AD builds more viable.

W – Pick a Card

  • Damage scaling and effects: Each card (Blue, Red, and Gold) now has increased damage scaling based on critical strike chance. This change ties in with his passive, encouraging a critical strike-focused build.
  • Auto attack reset: Locking in a card now resets the auto-attack timer, providing Twisted Fate with more fluid and responsive combat interactions.
  • Structure damage: Bonus damage from these cards now also affects inhibitors and the nexus, enhancing his capability in pushing lanes and sieging.

E – Stacked Deck

  • Attack speed and damage scaling: The bonus attack speed from this ability has been increased, and it now scales with 75% bonus AD. This change not only enhances his basic attacks but also synergizes with an AD-focused build.
  • Structure damage: This ability now damages structures, which significantly boosts Twisted Fate’s split-pushing and tower-taking capabilities.
  • Full stacks on learning: Upon learning this skill, it is fully stacked, allowing for an immediate impact in combat situations.

Volibear

  • Thundering Smash (Q): This ability now boasts an additional 25 attack range, enhancing Volibear’s reach in skirmishes.

Yorick

  • Base stats: Yorick’s rune choices are revamped, replacing Aftershock with Grasp of the Undying and Glacial Augment with First Strike, altering his playstyle and strategic approach.

Rune and Mastery Overhaul

In the dynamic world of League of Legends, the latest overhaul of runes and masteries brings exciting changes, opening a realm of strategic possibilities for players. Here’s a snapshot of these pivotal updates:

  • Unflinching rune transformation: Previously enhancing slow resist and tenacity based on missing health, the Unflinching rune now grants a bonus of 2-10 Armor and Magic Resistance when under crowd control (CC) and for two seconds afterward. This shift emphasizes durability during CC, aiding champions who thrive in prolonged engagements.
  • Revamped secondary slot shards: The second slot, traditionally reserved for Armor and Magic Resistance, now offers a boost of 2.5% movement speed and 10-150 health. This change caters to a variety of playstyles, from aggressive roamers to sturdy front-liners.
  • Third slot adjustments: The third slot has also been updated. Instead of Armor and Magic Resistance, it now provides 60 flat HP and 10% slow resist and tenacity. These changes enhance champions’ resilience, especially in dealing with crowd control effects.

Practice Tool Updates

The Practice Tool in League of Legends Patch 14.2 has been spruced up with some nifty enhancements to enrich your training experience. Check out what’s new:

  • Create spell shield: Now, you can generate a spell shield, offering an excellent way to practice timing and reflexes against various abilities.
  • Copy inventory to target: This convenient feature allows you to replicate your inventory onto a target dummy. It’s a great way to compare item effects or practice against specific item builds.
  • Grant status effect to target: You can now apply various status effects to your target. This update is perfect for understanding how different effects influence champions, aiding in your strategic planning and execution.
