Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive is reportedly gearing up for a major marketing campaign in Miami, which some fans believe could be the first sign of a promotional campaign for the highly anticipated GTA 6.

It’s been almost a decade since GTA 5 hit store shelves in September 2013. Since then, we’ve traversed multiple console generations without hearing a peep from the next GTA sequel. At least not in an official form. Aside from historical gameplay leaks and insider reports, Rockstar has kept its progress under wraps. But now we could finally learn more about the next GTA soon!

Planning a marketing campaign in Miami?

Aside from historical gameplay leaks and insider reports, Rockstar has kept its progress under wraps. Apart from the mere confirmation that GTA 6 is in active development, nothing has been officially announced about it so far. That’s why every bit of information, no matter how small, causes excitement among fans, and that’s no different with this questionable Reddit post from May 9th.

TakeTwo is planning to advertise in Miami

A mysterious printed document emerged on the popular GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, originating from a brand new account that has since been deleted. The letter, said to be from Take-Two Interactive, alleges that a major marketing campaign is being planned in Miami for an unnamed “Triple A” title.

Although the authenticity of the document cannot be verified and the Grand Theft Auto series was not credited by name, this letter alone has once again set the rumor mill churning.

Addressed to The Guild Downtown, a luxury hotel in Miami, Take-Two reportedly plans to place an advertisement on one side of the building’s parking garage. That advertisement would then remain in place for a whopping 12 months, the letter said. “Starting in late summer 2023.”

The fans want to believe it

Of course, the whole thing has to be enjoyed with a good deal of caution. The document could very well be fake, and even if it were real, there’s no clear indication that GTA 6 is the big game in focus.

However, given the long stretch of the promotional schedule and the location of Miami, which is likely to be the focus of the sequel, some fans are already beginning to believe it. “Yes, anything can be faked, but Red Dead Redemption 2’s map was also leaked and nobody batted an eyelid,” one player replied. “It also fits perfectly with the way they are promoting their games.” By the way, there were already rumors about the map, which should be twice as big as the GTA 5 map.

“They want to advertise from summer 2023 to summer 2024. Revealing the trailer in the summer, then releasing it in 2024 seems realistic,” said another.

But of course the vast majority is not convinced by the random letter. From the AI-generated text to the criticism of the accompanying business card, not everyone is convinced of GTA 6’s potential marketing plans.

“Anyone could type this and print it out”. “I’m not getting my hopes up.” “This is by no means real.” “This all reads like fake.” These and many other statements dominated the conversation, and as always, don’t believe everything you read.
