The third week of the Valorant League for American regions has come to end. Here is everything from VCT Americas League week 3.

Let’s begin by talking about LOUD who are sitting on the leaderboard with three victories. Cloud9 compensated their last week’s defeat and with 2 wins they are following LOUD in the points table. Things are not looking good for Sentinels, after two back-to-back defeats, Sentinal’s coach Don “SyykoNT” Muir has been removed from his position in the midway tournament. Out of all the North American teams in the tournament, Cloud9 is the only one to have made it into the top five of the leaderboards so far.

Cloud9 upset 100 Thieves

The very first match of week 3 in the VCT America league started with Cloud9 against 100T. Not to mention, Cloud9 had a clear edge over their counterpart which was later confirmed by the first game scoreline as well. In the first map of C9’s pick Lotus, they won convincingly with a 13-7 score.

On Contrast, the second map which was played on Ascent was an absolutely action-packed match. After exchanging rounds back and forth for almost 26 rounds, C9 was finally able to secure the match with a 14-12 score.

MIBR surprises NRG Esports

Moving into our second match of the first day- MIBR against NRG. No doubt, both teams are over the top when it comes to fragging capabilities. Provided that we got to witness a tightly contested match that concluded with a decider map. The first map was won by MIBR by conceding 10 rounds only.

The second map was a rollercoaster ride, with NRG dominating the initial stages, but MIBR mounting a strong counterattack. Despite MIBR’s efforts, NRG managed to secure the victory in overtime, with a final score of 16-14.

If you thought the second map was a nail-biter, the decider map was just as intense. However, this time around it was MIBR who emerged victorious in overtime, with another 16-14 score. The teams put on a spectacular show, leaving fans on the edge of their seats until the very end.

Leviathan outclass Sentinels

On day 2 of the tournament, Leviathan managed to outshine Sentinels on the first map of Split. Despite Sentinels taking the lead in the first half, Leviathan turned things around and won in overtime with a score of 14-12. Leviathan showed great resilience and determination while Sentinels failed to maintain their momentum.

After losing on their own map pick, Sentinels perfectly avenged in the second map of Ascent with a 13-11 score. In the decider map of Pearl, Leviathan completely overwhelmed their opponents. Sentinels were able to win only 4 rounds in total as Leviathan get away with the victory.

Following the consecutive loss, Sentinels’s CEO announced that Adam Kaplan will be the new coach replacing Don “SyykoNT” Muir. The decision came as a surprise to many as SyykoNT promised to work more on the team’s flaws just before this announcement.

Evil Geniuses crushes KRÜ Esports

Evil Geniuses brought joy to North American fans with a 2-1 victory over KRÜ Esports, after one NA team failed to impress on the second day. On their map pick of Split, EG conceded 11 rounds but managed to outclass KRÜ Esports during the attack. It was their extra effort in defense that proved to be the difference-maker.

However, KRÜ ain’t looking to go down soon as they displayed a brilliant comeback on second map. Although EG took a good lead after the first half still had no answer for KRÜ Esports’ defense. The second map of Ascent belonged to KRÜ by 13-11.

The third and final map was a decent show compared to the previous two maps. While there were equal attacks and counterattacks in the first half. The latter one became much more one-sided for EG as they finished the match by 13-7.

The third week ended with LOUD dominance

LOUD and FURIA, both from Brazil, met against each other to tighten their top spot in the leaderboards. However, it was LOUD who end up beating FURIA and confirmed their top spot for one more week. The first map of Split ended in LOUD’s favor with a 13-9 score, which was expected as LOUD is known to excel on this map. FURIA’s map pick of Icebox turned out to be a disaster, with the team securing only 4 rounds – all on defense with zero impact while attacking. LOUD’s impressive performance secured their dominance in the league.

Fans can catch up on VCT Americas League week 4 from April, 22 onwards where LOUD will meet against Sentinels in a highly anticipated clash.
