A total of 24 teams started and only four of them are left in the race for the title. IEM Rio Major features two amazing semifinals later today and everyone is eager to find out who the finalists are going to be.

Needless to say, FURIA Esports are everyone’s favorites at this point. Since the tournament takes place in Brazil and all of the famous teams have been eliminated, there’s only one competitor left to cheer for.

MOUZ vs. Outsiders

MOUZ and Outsiders have already encountered each other in the Legends Stage of IEM Rio Major and the match was won decisively by Outsiders: 16-10 on Overpass and 16-10 on Inferno. However, in CS:GO, the situation can change dramatically in just a few days.

MOUZ have impressed us with their performance at IEM Rio Major, but so have Outsiders. Both teams encountered some really strong opposition along the way and managed to win in almost all cases. Now it’s time for them to face each other for the third time at this event.

The odds are probably 47/53% in favor of Outsiders. But either team could easily win the match.

Heroic vs. FURIA

This will be the match that everyone will be watching. Heroic, with their new and improved roster, have demonstrated exceptional determination at this tournament. Now we can say for certain that parting ways with Ismail “refrezh” Ali and bringing in Jakob “Jabbi” Nygaard was a good idea.

Heroic’s journey at IEM Rio Major has been really fun to watch. The team lost against Cloud9 (0-2) but defeated Fnatic (16-2), Team Liquid (2-1), and Team Spirit (2-0). If they can beat FURIA too, there will be no one to stop them in the Grand Final. Realistically, neither Outsiders nor MOUZ can stand against them.

But FURIA can. And they most likely will. The Brazilians have shown just how good and how determined they are to win this Major in the Legends Stage and in the match against Natus Vincere.

The skills displayed by some of their players, such as Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato and Andrei “arT” Piovezan are on par with those of the world’s best. This is good for the team’s morale and on top of that, FURIA also have the crowd on their side.

Everyone knows that Casper “cadiaN” Moller likes to create a bit of an atmosphere. But he won’t have any support in this match. For the Brazilians, this might as well be the World Cup Final.
