How to win MMR with Marci in Dota 2 patch 7.32c

Every Dota 2 patch inevitably creates a handful of monsters and Dota 2 patch 7.32c has its own. One of them is Marci, a hero that gets banned or picked in almost every single game. And not just at the professional level. Anyone who has played this hero or against her at least a couple of times knows just how powerful she can be in the mid game.

Marci excels in the position 3 and position 4 roles. If you get to level 12 and buy a simple pair of Phase Boots plus an Aghanim’s Scepter, most enemy cores will hate you. Because as soon as you cast your ultimate, for 15 seconds they can no longer play their usual game.

Marci’s damage output while Unleash is active is ridiculously high. Being a strength hero, you can easily make Marci both hard to kill and deadly. The basic items she needs to excel give her the right combination of stats and immunities, so unless the enemy team has BKB-piercing abilities, you’re free to do whatever you want during fights.

In between fights, Marci does not excel at anything except initiation. She’s a slow farmer and has no weave clearing abilities, which is why few people would advise you to play this hero mid or as carry. But she more than compensates for these deficiencies with her E and R.

Marci’s strengths

Marci’s abilities cost relatively little mana and her stat increase per level is enormous: 3.6 strength, 2.4 agility, and 1.9 intelligence. On top of that, she has an amazing movement speed: 315. At level 1, she’s one of the strongest heroes in the game.

The main weakness of this hero is her farming speed, but you can compensate for it if you want by purchasing lots of damage early on. You don’t really need to buy anything significant to sustain your HP and mana pools, because you have a huge amount of lifesteal and your abilities are cheap to cast.

You can also skip the boots if you want and just buy a Wind Lace that you can later turn into Drums of Endurance. This will allow you to spend more money on damage items, if you want to play the hero in the carry or mid roles. But you don’t need to do this. Marci is a fantastic position 4 hero and can have a huge impact with less than 6000 networth.

When you play Marci, maximize your Sidekick and your Dispose if you want to fight early on. Combined, they will give you a lot of damage potential.
