How to gain MMR with Tinker in Dota 2 patch 7.33e

At the recent Riyadh Masters, Tinker was only picked 10 times and his win rate was 33%, which is not exactly great. But at the community level, Tinker is picked in roughly 9% of all matches and his win rate is 52%.

This is a very strong hero whose main weakness is the laning phase. If you know how to farm during the first 10 minutes of the game and then play around your teammates, you’ll win more games than you might expect. The later the game goes, the stronger Tinker becomes.

This hero is very hard to deal with once he has enough items. But he’s difficult to play. You need excellent APM and map awareness because you will be the focal point of the entire enemy team. Everyone will try to get rid of you as often and as early as possible.

When you play Tinker, you cannot stand still even for a few seconds. The standard procedure is to Blink in, use your abilities, Rearm, and then blink again. When you feel threatened, you need to blink multiple times in a row, using your missiles to cancel enemy Blink Daggers.

What makes Tinker strong

Tinker was reworked a long time ago. Before the rework, people used to invest all their gold into a pair of Boots of Travel. After that, they bought Blink Dagger. Now you can skip the BoTs because you can simply use Keen Conveyance and TP scrolls.

This allows you to buy your Blink Dagger very quickly and then start ganking or farming at a rapid pace.

Different players play Tinker in different ways. The safest way to play the hero is the defensive one. Instead of investing a lot of gold into upgrading a Dagon, you can buy a Shiva’s Guard, an Ethereal Blade, and a Scythe of Vyse, along with more standard items like Aether Lens, Black King Bar, and Kaya & Sange.

If you are very hard to kill but can neutralize one or more targets at all times and in a reliable manner, you’ll be extremely useful to your teammates. Just make sure that your team doesn’t rely on you to deal the damage. Otherwise, you may have to play using a more aggressive build.

It’s really fun to play Tinker while using Scythe repeatedly on a target until your team gets the job done. It drives the enemy side insane.
