We recently brought you the news that Cloud9 had decided to restructure its CS:GO team, meaning that their entire roster would be released. However, the North American Esports organisation has moved quickly to take the first steps in its restructure, having announced that Henry “HenryG” Greer and Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunovic will join their ranks.

HenryG will join Cloud9 as General Manager, while kassad will act as Head Coach for the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 winners.

The North American’s announced on September 6 that they would be dropping their entire roster following an extended period of disappointing results, adding that they would be building a new one, as well as helping those released in finding a new team.

Why Cloud9 Chose to Add HenryG to Their Ranks

Having recently announced his retirement from the world of casting, HenryG will bring vast experience to Cloud9, with the former player and commentator having played in over 150 CS:GO events during his career, representing the likes of Team Dignitas and Team Infused in the process. Upon his arrival at Cloud9, the 32-year-old stated that:

“My plans for this team are certainly ambitious. I wouldn’t be involved in any sort of General Manager role unless I had absolute full control of the roster and direction we plan to head.” Many have called into question the decision to entrust HenryG with their entire CS:GO team, however the former caster is confident in his ability to turn their fortunes around.

HenryG will have a major say in who joins the revamped Cloud9 CS:GO roster, however no final decisions in this area are believed to have been made just yet. The new Head Coach even took to his official Twitter page to begin his search, Tweeting: “You think you have what it takes to compete in the top 10 of the world? You know where to find me,” Henry tweeted.

What Kassad Will Bring to Cloud9

Cloud9 were undoubtedly attracted to kassad as a result of his track record when it comes to improving struggling teams, having had spells with the likes of mousesports, Renegades and 100 Thieves already. The Serbian was equally confident of his ability to make an impact at Cloud9, stating that: “I think this is going to be one great project. Cloud9 is one of the most respectable organisations in esports and we are going to make sure we put in everything we have to build the CSGO team they deserve.”

It remains to be seen as to when the new Cloud9 will be finalised, however fans around the world are eagerly anticipating just how the North American giants will fare in the future.
