It looks like, the Indian esports organization, Global Esports is considering exploring replacement options for Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar. Global Esports, is the sole Indian esports group in the Valorant Franchise League. Also, SkRossi has been part of the team since October 2020.

The report of Skrossi’s replacement came from, Investigative reporter, George Geddes from Win.GG. He mentioned Skrossi’s potential departure from the organization after a memorable three years.

SkRossi has been a key player for Global Esports in Valorant right from the beginning. He played a big part in helping the team secure their spot in the franchise league. He was one of the two Indian players on the team since the start.

Global Esports looking at the Pacific region for SKrossi replacement

However, recent rumblings suggest a new chapter on the horizon for SkRossi, as he contemplates exploring fresh opportunities. This prospective departure raises the concern of a void within the team, prompting Global Esports to actively assess their options. In a bid to address this potential gap, the organization appears to be eyeing talents from the Pacific region.

Should SkRossi decide to take his leave, it would leave Global Esports with a solitary Indian player, the notable Abhirup “Lightningfast” Choudhury, in their roster. This adjustment could mark a significant shift for the Indian esports powerhouse.

In the partnered Valorant leagues, teams are not allowed to add new players to their rosters until the following month. This means that the time for teams to make changes to their rosters will probably start in the upcoming weeks for all the important regions.

Global Esports disappointment performance may be the reason

Global Esports was one of the partnered teams selected for the VCT Pacific League. The sole representation from the South Asia region begins its journey after signing the following roster:

  • Jordan “AYRIN” He
  • Park “Bazzi” Jun-ki
  • Kim “t3xture” Na-ra
  • Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar
  • Michael “WRONSKI” Wronski
  • Abhirup “Lightningfast” Choudhury
  • Cahya “Monyet” Nugraha

The team kicked off its international tournament journey with a defeat against Team Vitality in the VCT LOCK//IN event in February 2023. Subsequently, their performance took a downward turn in the VCT Pacific League, leading to their elimination during the League stage. The team’s last opportunity was the do-or-die chance in the last-chance qualifier, which unfortunately resulted in an even more disheartening outcome.

SkRossi, who initially played as a Sentinel, transitioned to the role of a duelist. However, it became evident at various points that the team’s composition was struggling to make a significant impact. While SkRossi delivered a decent performance during the VCT Pacific League, the Last Chance Qualifier turned into a nightmarish experience for him and the team.

As of the current moment, SkRossi referenced a tweet from George and playfully hinted that he might be considering applying to MacD. If SkRossi eventually leaves Global Esports, it will be intriguing to observe how this departure impacts the representation of South Asia in the Valorant Esports scene. Particularly, given the recent decrease in viewership, the response of the Indian audience holds significance.
