After ratifying its Counter-Strike lineup several times this season, G2 Esports seems to make an unexpected change in its lineup.

And is that some reports in recent hours mention that G2 would be close to sending Justin “jks” Savage to the team’s bench. There is no doubt that this is completely unexpected news, considering the success that this squad of players has had together. However, it is also true that the team did not have a positive CS:GO era close and CS2 start.

On the other hand, we should also remember that jks was the firepower of G2 Esports in their impressive runs in some Tier 1 tournaments.

Reports indicate that G2 Esports will make changes to their CS2 lineup

According to a report from popular web portal HTLV, G2 Esports has reportedly decided to send jks to the team’s bench to change the squad.

There is no doubt that this move is completely unexpected, although the team has won only IEM Cologne and IEM Katowice this season. However, the team’s performance in the Paris Major was not ideal, and in recent tournaments, it has not been ideal either.

Similarly, these rumors may be just that, as let’s remember that a few weeks ago, many reports claimed that Nikola “NiKo” Kovač would leave G2 to sign for Falcons. However, G2 and NiKo denied this information and announced that the player stayed with the team.

Reports even indicated that if NiKo decided to leave G2, his replacement would be Nemanja “nexa” Isaković, current OG rifler.

Many changes at the start of the CS2 era

We all expected the start of the CS2 era to bring many changes to the competitive scene. However, we didn’t expect that teams would make so many staff changes at the drop of a hat.

It all started with the departure of Team Vitality’s Head Coach, Danny “zonic” Sørensen, who decided to join Falcons to create an ambitious project. Then, it was announced that CS:GO GO GOAT Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev was taking a break from the competitive scene and listening to other teams’ offers. Finally, what was most surprising was when Heroic sent his captain, Casper “cadiaN” Møller, to the team’s bench.

Right now, both teams and players are still analyzing how the new game works; even the most important role within a squad is still unclear. However, despite all this and the fact that the game is still very new, it makes no sense for G2 Esports to send jks to the bench.

And, if we are objective and analyze the situation in detail by looking at statistics and player performances, the sacrificed should be Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, who has demonstrated on several occasions that he is not up to the level (in-game level) of the rest of his teammates.
