The excitement continues in the LEC Season Finals 2023, and G2 Esports have already secured the second ticket to Montpellier and Worlds 2023.
As expected, the Samurai demonstrated their excellent level of play in the match against Team BDS to win 3-1 and advance to the final of the Upper Bracket of the LEC Season Finals 2023. In addition, the team also becomes the second LEC qualifier for the next Worlds 2023, so now we have 4 teams fighting for the remaining spot and the Worlds Qualifying Series spot.
EXCEL Esports, Fnatic, Team BDS, and SK Gaming are the 4 teams mentioned, and these will play later this week, the most important matches for them of the entire 2023 season.
G2 Esports joins MAD Lions as Worlds 2023 Qualifiers
It is no coincidence that the Winter and Spring Split champion teams are the first to qualify for Worlds 2023. This shows, in addition to the great individual level of their players, a spectacular and, above all, desirable consistency.
The truth is that neither MAD Lions nor G2 Esports had many problems getting this ticket to Worlds 2023 and Montpellier, as Team BDS and EXCEL Esports did not offer much resistance.

G2 crush Team BDS 3-1
While it is true that the series was relatively easy for G2 Esports, they still had to fight against an opponent that came very close to making things difficult for them. However, Rasmus “Caps” Winther, Martin “Yike” Sundelin, and Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik were in charge of leading the team to victory.
In the first match of this Grand Final, G2 started very well after an excellent victory in 33 minutes and 42 seconds.

When we all thought it would be a comfortable win for G2 in this final, Team BDS proved us otherwise, as, after losing the first game, the team woke up to hit back. Thanks to Juš “Crownshot” Marušič (6/1/5 and 307 CS), they managed to even the series 1-1 to put some pressure on G2.
However, this did not make the Samurai drop their arms, as, in the third and fourth games of the series, G2 relied on Caps and Steven “Hans Sama” Liv to take a 3-1 victory.
