Despite rebranding to Nigma Galaxy, it has been a surprisingly quiet offseason for Nigma to date. It looks like it could well stay this way, with the organization having announced that they have retained their entire roster ahead of the 2022 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season.

Following the merger between Nigma Galaxy and Galacy Racer, a second Dota 2 lineup was effectively acquired. Meanwhile, despite the org having reportedly held trials in order to find replacements, it is understood that no changes to their roster will be made. As a result, the core that featured in the final stages of the 2021 Dota Pro Cirquit will once again wear Nigma colors.

How the Nigma Galaxy Roster Will Look in 2022

New arrival “iLTW” will team up with “KuroKy”, “MinD”, “ContRoL”, “Gh” and “Miracle”, with the latter four having been part of the team that failed to pull up any trees last season. Nigma missed out on qualifying for The International 10 by just one game at the WePlay AniMajor.

They also failed to reach the high profile event after being knocked out of the TI10 EU Qualifiers by OG. In what would have been a major disappointment, KuroKy did not feature at The International for the first time in his career. Nigma Galaxy has yet to play in a competitive tournament, although improvements have still been made.

Why NGX Decided to Stick With Their Existing Lineup

SEA favorite Gabbi, who was recently announced as Talon Esports’ latest signing, stated that Nigma was actively looking at potential transfers. However, whether it be because of a lack of interest of other reasons, none of the recent trialists or potential arrivals materialized. Nigma has made major strides of late, having finished fifth at the AniMajor, having previously struggled to a 16th place finish at the ONE Esports Singapore Major.

While their defeat to OG at the ESL One Summer 2021 was a disappointment, they remain with significant potential, with their recent upturn in form having been of all their own doing. Ahead of the 2022 Dota Pro Cirquit, Nigma Galaxy will be one of the only teams to be competing with the same lineup from 2021.

The likes of Team Liquid, Alliance and Team Secret have all undergone roster rebuilds, which theoretically gives NGX the edge, given their familiarity with one another. Time will tell just how much of an advantage this is, with the Winter Tour getting underway on November 30.
