The second match played on October 6 at the BLAST Premier: Fall American Showdown 2023, left us with an excellent 2-1 victory for FURIA Esports over Legacy. As a result, FURIA secures its place in the tournament’s semifinals, while this new Legacy lineup falls short in this tournament.

FURIA owes a great debt to all their fans, as they are a team that has all the pieces necessary to succeed on the competitive scene. However, something seems to be not quite right within the team, as they struggle to get the wins. Likewise, this win against Legacy could help boost the team’s morale heading into the match against Complexity in the semifinals.

On the other hand, talking about Legacy is a Brazilian team formed by experienced players such as Marcelo “coldzera” David, Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer, and Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato. Even though they came close to pulling off the upset against FURIA in this series, the team couldn’t and fell short on the third map.

Let’s see what happened in the series between FURIA and Legacy.

FURIA beat Legacy by 2-1

While it is true that everyone in the competitive scene expected the result, there is no doubt that Legacy is a team to be reckoned with. FURIA starts the series with an excellent 16-13 victory. However, Legacy responds immediately and evens the series 1-1 thanks to the victory in the second map by 16-14. Finally, FURIA brings out all its potential in the third map to take the victory by 16-9.

This series took place on Overpass, Mirage, and Nuke.

Overpass

It all started on Overpass, Legacy’s map pick, where we enjoyed a high-voltage match from start to finish.

In the first half, Legacy’s T Side was spectacular, as they managed to take a partial victory by 8-7. Dumau was at his best and carried his team’s offense. However, when the sides changed, Andrei “arT” Piovezan was responsible for waking up his teammates in FURIA to turn the score around and take the victory by 16-13.

Mirage

Then, the teams moved to Mirage, the FURIA map pick, where we enjoyed another great game that had to be defined in the final rounds.

In the first half, Legacy, this time on their CT Side, gave a blow on the table to take the partial victory by 9-6. Bruno “latto” Rebelatto and Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato deployed all their potential to prevent FURIA’s offensives.

Then, with the change of sides, FURIA cut the distance little by little and evened the score 14-14. However, Legacy won in the last two rounds to secure the 16-14 victory and even the series 1-1.

Nuke

Finally, Nuke was the map defining the final Americas region semifinalist of the BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2023.

With FURIA starting on its CT Side, the map had a balanced first half, with both teams splitting the rounds. As a result, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and his team took a partial victory with a tight 8-7 score. Then, at the change of sides, Legacy’s defense completely fell apart, as they could only stop two FURIA attacks.

Finally, with Yuri “yuurih” Santos completely inspired by this map, FURIA took a resounding 16-9 victory to secure the pass to the tournament’s semifinals.
