Undoubtedly, the VALORANT Champions 2023 spotlight was on Fnatic and LOUD’s matches the previous day in the Lower Bracket. Both teams came in as favorites to play at least the grand final of this tournament. However, Fnatic and LOUD unexpectedly fell into the Upper Bracket, meaning they had to play for their lives in the lower bracket.

Despite losing the first map, both teams managed to step up and pull out all the stops to win against DRX (Fnatic) and EDward Gaming (LOUD).

On the other hand, it is also worth mentioning that the journey in VCT Champions 2023 is over for the Chinese teams, and right now, there are only four teams left alive in the quest for the world champions trophy.

Let’s see what happened on the last day of the VALORANT Champions 2023 playoffs.

LOUD apply a spectacular reverse sweep to beat EDG

The Brazilian squad came to these Lower Bracket quarterfinals with doubts since, after their loss to DRX, it seems that the world came crashing down on them. However, after losing the first map against EDG, they managed to wake up to complete an excellent reverse sweep and thus stay alive in the tournament.

It all started on Bind, the map pick of the Chinese squad, where EDG managed to step up and show why they selected this map to start the series. In the first half, we had a very even match, which ended with a partial score of 6-6, making us think we would have a really intense series. However, at the change of sides, EDG’s defense could stop the aggressive attacks of the Brazilians from taking the victory by 13-11.

Then, in Ascent, the Brazilian squad hit back, and in what a way, they achieved an excellent victory by 13-5, demonstrating absolute supremacy over EDG. In the first half, LOUD could win 8 of the 12 rounds played to finally win the remaining 5 in the first 6 rounds of the second half. As a result, the Brazilian squad evened the series 1-1 and forced the third and decisive map.

Haven defines everithing

Finally, the teams faced each other in Haven in a pitched battle from start to finish. In the first half, as in the first map of the series, the teams left everything on the server and ended with the score even at 6-6. Then, at the change of sides, we had sparks of great quality from both sides, as LOUD quickly took an 11-6 lead. However, EDG woke up and made the score 11-12. Finally, LOUD won the final round to secure the 13-11 victory.

Fnatic suffer but got an excellent 2-1 win over DRX

Undoubtedly, Fnatic started as a clear favorites in this series against DRX. However, the Pacific squad surprised everyone by winning the first map in a very solid and overwhelming way. However, this did not discourage Fnatic, who managed to wake up to take a 2-1 victory and stay alive in VALORANT Champions 2023.

It all started in Bind, Fnatic’s map pick, where DRX surprised us all by taking a crushing 13-1 victory. It was not in anyone’s cards that Fnatic would lose a map by 1-13, even more, so it was their map pick. However, DRX showed exceptional play to put the series 1-0 in their favor.

However, this only awakened the inner beast in Fnatic, as the British squad woke up in the second map, Haven, to take the victory by 13-9. In the first half, the teams gave us a very even match which ended with a score of 6-6. However, Fnatic’s defense was exemplary, and they took the victory by 13-9.

Finally, Fnatic completed a spectacular reverse sweep in Split, demonstrating all their quality and why they have the label of favorites in this tournament. Again, in the first half, we witnessed a very even match that ended with a tight score of 7-5. However, Fnatic’s defense came to the fore again to win 6 of the 7 rounds played in the second half to take a solid 13-6 victory.
