After Shopify Rebellion announced that it parted ways with Fly, Abed, and Cr1t-, everyone started to wonder where these three players would go. All three of them are formidable and among the top 10 in the world in their respective roles. But who could sign them at a time like this?
Fly probably received offers from multiple teams, but it seems that he enjoys staying in the US. So he simply joined nouns, a team that finished 7th – 8th at The International. This spectacular result may have encouraged the team’s management to take a bigger risk for 2024 and hope that Dota 2’s professional scene will return with the help of ESL and other organizers.
For the time being, the new nouns roster has a position 5, a position 4, and a position 3 player. These three players are Fly, Lelis, and Gunnar. Gunnar and Lelis were part of the nouns roster that did exceptionally well at The International 12. Fly comes from Shopify. It remains to be seen who the most important cores will be.
It’s a bit strange to see neither Moo nor K1 not included in the starting roster. Both of them did so well in 2023! And let’s not forget that Moo is a former TI Finalist with Digital Chaos. This happened in 2016, but it’s still a noteworthy achievement.

About Fly
Fly is known for his amazing work ethic and positive attitude. He led some of the best rosters in the world and at 30 years old, he’s one of the most decorated captains in the history of the game. In total, he’s made $2.8 million just from tournament prizes and won four Majors, in addition to his multiple TI participations.
The best result he got at TI was 3rd place. This happened in 2018, the year he “betrayed” OG and joined Evil Geniuses. He ended up spending five years playing alongside Arteezy and getting several more TI participations. But he always got eliminated before reaching the top four. In 2019, EG finished 5th – 6th. The other results were less impressive.
In terms of his knowledge, Fly is a world-class Dota 2 captain who can take almost any team to TI and get a decent result. In North America, he’s probably the best of the best. But nouns will have a few strong opponents next year. So he will need to give his best if he wants to win.
