One of the most successful players in CS:GO history, Egor “flamie” Vasilyev, wants to return to the Tier 1 competitive scene with the arrival of CS2.

Flamie plays under the CYBERSHOKE Esports banner in different Tier 3 tournaments in the CS:GO scene. However, after a recent interview, the 26-year-old Russian stated that he wants to return to the Tier 1 scene to compete side by side with the best players and teams in the world.

On the other hand, the former NaVi Rifler hopes to get another chance at the top competitive level when the Counter-Strike 2 era begins after the game’s official release in the summer of 2023.

Flamie wants to return to the top competitive level of Counter-Strike

In an interview with HLTV, flamie assured that he is not happy to be playing at Tier 3 and wants to return to Tier 1 with the release of CS2.

In the interview, flamie mentions that he wants to return and believes he still has much to prove. However, the 26-year-old Russian player says it would be in CS2, as he does not see himself returning to the top competitive level in CS:GO. In addition, flamie mention that, with experience and his winning blood, he can be a great addition to some top-tier team in CS2. Finally, the Russian said that CS2 is somewhat easier regarding shooting mechanics, as, according to him, “the hitbox is different.”

About flamie

For all of us who have been following the CS:GO competitive scene for many years, flamie’s name is not strange, since, for several years, he was one of the best and most fearsome Riflers in the world. However, right now, he plays as Support for CYBERSHOKE.

In the interview with HLTV, flamie said that, barring an unexpected or extraordinary move, he will play with his current teammates at the start of the CS2 era. Unlike flamie, the rest of the CYBERSHOKE players are young, so the Russian is focused on sharing all his experience with this new crop of players.

Likewise, this does not overshadow all of flamie’s achievements in his prime. From 2015 to 2021, he was part of the NaVi squad that won everything. Among his achievements, we can highlight the victory in ESL One Cologne 2018, IEM Katowice 2020, BLAST Premier Global Final 2021, and ESL One New York 2016. In addition, flamie played in three Major finals.

Flamie is not the only experienced CS:GO player who wants to return to the top-level scene in CS2. Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, one of the most important legends in the game’s history, also wants to return to the scene with the new game.
