After two splits to forget, the European esports organization Excel Esports in its League of Legends division allows its starting jungler, Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir, to explore his options to look for a new home in this 2023 season in the LEC.

Undoubtedly, this will be just the first of several changes the organization must consider right now. It is a fact that both the Winter and Spring Split have been fatal for the team, as they have failed to qualify for the Group Stage in either of them. Moreover, organizations have shown recently that they are always willing to make radical changes to achieve good results as soon as possible.

Xerxe is looking for a new home for Summer Split

After two dreadful Splits, EXCEL wipes the slate clean for the remainder of the 2023 season in the LEC. The first move they make is to release their former starting jungler, Xerxe, who is now free to explore his options for the 2023 Summer Split.

Xerxe becomes the second player to jump ship from Excel Esports this season, as the team finished at the bottom of the table in Winter and Spring. Now, the player is on the hunt for his ninth team in his career for the Summer Split and whatever comes next. In addition, Excel is now analyzing all the options they have to replace Xerxe in the starting lineup.

Based on what was observed throughout the Split and the stats on Oracle’s Elixir, there is no doubt that the Spring Split 2023 has been the worst Xerxe has had since he turned pro in League of Legends. It is also worth noting that he is the only Support in the league that did not go over ten kills in the regular season. However, Excel’s debacle cannot only be blamed on Xerxe’s level, as none of his teammates performed well.

Excel Esports’ overall poor performance

Just because Xerxe had a bad Split doesn’t mean the team’s debacle is his fault. On the contrary, the team’s overall performance was extremely poor, and we could tell the players had not been on the same script since the beginning of the season.

On the other hand, we can highlight that the team had many problems at the beginning of the games, which was lapidary for them in both Splits. In the spring, the team had an average of -2510 gold in the first 15 minutes of each game, which is terrible for any team.

Many problems throughout the Split were seen in each of Excel Esports’ matches. For example, we observed many unforced errors and poorly timed fights. Also, the team lacked the synergy needed to stay united and alive in each match.

On the other hand, there is no doubt that this terrible performance does nothing but amaze the community, as Excel Esports’ lineup was not bad at all. Moreover, they had players like Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu and Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié, who are important in the League of Legends scene in EMEA.

Now it remains to wait for the decisions the organization will make regarding Xerxe’s replacement in the Jungler position and if they will make more changes in the lineup in the coming hours.
