It looks like the light at the end of the tunnel is showing at the North American organization Evil Geniuses. After terrible results over the last few months, the organization has announced a massive change in its CS:GO lineups.

First, we should remember that Evil Geniuses is one of the organizations that has decided to take the big step of having up to three different CS:GO lineups. This means the team had a roster of 15 active players disputing different tournaments.

After bad results, EG announced it would make drastic changes, and several players are expected to leave.

EG decides to renew its CS:GO roster

As we mentioned, EG has had the last few months to forget, where their performance has not been up to par, and the team’s fans have shown a lot of despair. Due to this, the organization announced that they would run a combination of their academy lineups, which would result in the departure of some players.

As noted in EG’s official press release, the organization combines the Evil Geniuses Black and White academy squads. As a result of this merger, EG will now have a single lineup of 10 players for the main team, and in addition, it is also detailed that they will have an academy roster for the future.

But who are the losers of this merger?

As mentioned, EG’s 15-player lineup will now go down to 10 players and, as reported on various web portals, the player departures will be:

  • Josh “PwnAlone” Pigue
  • Ben “ben1337” Smith
  • Jonathan “Jonji” Carey
  • Wesley “viz” Harris
  • Khizar “Momo” Rehman

We can see that EG White players will leave the organization if we detail this list. However, Joseph “Muenster” Lima, the Head Coach of this team, will remain in the organization, but it has not yet been announced what position he will take.

However, the departure of these five players does not mean that these are all the organization’s moves. According to a report from the Dust2.us portal, Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz will also be replaced from the lineup, and rumors point to Jadan “HexT” Postma will be chosen. Now, we will wonder what will become of the vacant spot in EG’s main lineup, as HexT was part of it. Rumors place former Heroic and Sprout Ismail “refrezh” Ali as the player who will take the reins of EG’s main lineup.

It looks like EG’s plan didn’t work out

EG’s foray with its ambitious 15-player lineup hasn’t entirely worked, as in less than a year, we already see radical changes. Although the North Americans were a pleasant surprise when they qualified for the IEM Rio Major with an excellent RMR NA, they only managed one victory in the Major, and from then on, we all know EG’s debacle.

The last one was in the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: NA RMR Qualifier, where they lost against LOS + oNe and did not get the ticket to the RMR.
