The third day of the ESL Pro League S17 playoffs is over, and we have the first semifinalists of the tournament, ENCE, and Cloud9. Undoubtedly, both teams have shown exceptional performance since the beginning of the tournament and have made all the merits to be among the top four teams.
Before continuing with our summary, we must highlight the inspiration of ENCE, a team that has been inconsistent in recent tournaments. However, in this ESL Pro League S17, they have managed to leave on the road none other than G2 Esports and Team Vitality.

Cloud9 completes the reverse sweep and qualifies for the semifinals
Cloud9 woke up in the second map of the quarterfinals against MOUZ and pulled off a reverse sweep (2-1) to qualify for the ESL Pro League S17 semifinals. Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov carried his team throughout the series and finished with an ADR of 99.7 and a Rating of 1.32.
The series was played on Inferno (MOUZ), Vertigo (C9), and Mirage (decider).
Inferno
Cloud9 started the first map well, taking a 9-6 partial victory on the CT side. However, when they switched sides, they did not expect such a violent reaction as the MOUZ boys had, who, with the help of Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás and David “frozen” Čerňanský, turned the score around by winning ten of the eleven rounds played and thus taking the victory on the map with a score of 16-10.

Vertigo
We had a very evenly matched first half in Vertigo, with both teams playing strategically to take the victories in each round. As a result, MOUZ was able to take a partial victory 8-7 on the CT side. However, this time it was Cloud9 who hit back and, with an immense Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov (118 ADR and 1.95 Rating), took the map with a score of 16-11.

Mirage
Finally, it all ended on CS:GO’s most popular map, Mirage, where Cloud9 managed to steamroll over MOUZ to take an excellent 16-10 victory. Ax1le once again proved why he is considered one of the best players in the world, as he finished with 113 ADR and a Rating of 1.46. As a result of this victory, Cloud9 will face the surprising ENCE in the semifinals in the search for a ticket to the grand final of the ESL Pro League S17.

ENCE crushed Team Vitality and qualified for the semifinals
Just like Cloud9, after a reverse sweep and displaying an exceptional level of play, especially from Spaniard Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia, ENCE eliminated Team Vitality and became the second semifinalist of the ESL Pro League S17.
This series was played on Nuke (ENCE), Overpass (Team Vitality), and Vertigo (decider).
Nuke
ENCE’s Map pick came close to being a great comeback for the European team, as after losing the first half 10-5 and the first three rounds by switching sides, they managed to get 14-13 at one point in the match. However, Emil “Magisk” Reif managed to pull Vitality to victory with a close score of 16-14.

Overpass
On Team Vitality’s map pick, we watched as the ENCE boys’ reaction began. After a spectacular first half of SunPayus (149.4 ADR and 2.56 Rating), ENCE was able to take a comfortable victory on the CT side with a score of 13-2. However, Team Vitality tried to react with Lotan “Spinx” Giladi, but their efforts were not enough to overcome the score, and they ended up losing 11-16.

Vertigo
Finally, we enjoyed a third map (Vertigo) between these two teams in the fight for a place in the semifinals, where ENCE came out victorious 16-14.
Team Vitality started by striking first on the T side, with a 9-6 victory, with Magisk immense in every attack of his team.

Then, at the start of the second half, ENCE responded to go 11-10 up on the scoreboard to give their team hope. Immediately after came the reaction of Team Vitality, which won four consecutive rounds (14-11) that, without a doubt, seemed lapidary for ENCE.
Finally, thanks to a clutch by Guy “NertZ” Iluz in round 29, they gave ENCE an extra push to take the victory 16-14.
