Throughout the history of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, we have seen how on many occasions, a single move in a lineup can reveal the great potential of the teams. This is because this player may be able to exploit the potential of each of his teammates.

On other occasions, these additions often become the leaders that teams need to get ahead, the firepower required for a riffler or an AWPer.

Changes in the World Ranking

This 2022 has been a colossal year for CS:GO, as many surprising results have caused the world ranking not to stay the same for a long time. But, unfortunately, this has not been the case for a long time.

Now, if we look at those teams that have managed to have a spectacular year, surpassing their expectations, we can realize that they have made different critical moves in their lineups for this season.

Ropz teams up with FaZe to lead them to victory in the Major

In the 2021 season, the first with Twistzz and karrigan on the team, the team did not achieve a single significant result. The highlight of this season was that the team reached the semifinals of the IEM Cologne.

Finally, they had a losing streak with which they closed the year, but fans were anxious after learning that Robin “ropz” Kool would join for this 2022.

Ropz fit into this team perfectly. It was taking a leadership role alongside karrigan, as well as providing stability to a team that did not play well last season.

Ropz was named ESL Pro League S15 MVP and was a mainstay in the three consecutive tournaments FaZe Clan won, including the PGL Antwerp Major. Despite the team’s terrible fall in the IEM Rio Major, FaZe had an excellent year in 2022.

G2 Esports got a second wind thanks to m0NESY

G2 Esports made many changes throughout the 2022 season. After being considered one of the best teams in the world for several consecutive seasons, they were on a negative streak that seemed complicated to get out of.

First, they brought in Aleksib as IGL at the beginning of 2022, but this only lasted six months, as the team signed jks and HooXi. But, there is no doubt that G2’s biggest and best move has been the addition of the young Russian AWPer, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov.

At only 16 years old, m0NESY came from the NaVi academy, learning from none other than s1mple, the best AWPer of all time in CS:GO. This young Russian player was unafraid to take on NAVI, FURIA, Astralis, Liquid, and other top players.

Although G2 missed the IEM Rio Major, G2 finished the year as strong as possible with a trophy at the BLAST Premier World Final, led by m0NESY’s MVP-worthy first performance.

YEKINDAR puts Liquid on top

Despite the arrival of oSee and the return to the lineup of nitr0, Team Liquid knew they needed another determinant player at the beginning of 2022. They found the solution mid-year in Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis after he was sent to the Outsiders bench.

While it is true that he came in as a backup to the team, YEKINDAR, with only a few days on the team, knew that this would be his new home. As his signing as a full-time player became official, Team Liquid finished among the top four teams in three tournaments in the final months of 2022.
