In group B of Elite League, Team Liquid won the race exactly as was predicted, while Aurora were eliminated despite their excellent start.
Arguably, this group had no upsets because the top four teams were all expected to qualify for the playoffs.

For Liquid, their 10 W – 4 L record, obtained by winning three matches and drawing four, was enough to help them win group B. However, this victory doesn’t mean very much because the only playoffs team they defeated is Gaimin Gladiators.
Xtreme Gaming finished group B with a record of 9 W – 5 L. They won two matches and drew five times. Their victories came against Blacklist International and Aurora, so it’s hard to predict what they’ll do in the playoffs of Elite League. Most likely, they will lose in their first match against Team Falcons. What happens next is up to them.
Tundra Esports had one victory and six draws (8 W – 6 L). The team they defeated is BOOM Esports. Other than that, they proved to be very hard to beat two times in a row. But they didn’t prove to be hard to resist. The best-of-three format from the playoffs might be favorable to them or it might get them eliminated very quickly.
Gaimin Gladiators won two matches, lost one, and drew four times. Both of the teams they defeated, BetBoom Team and Blacklist International, will not compete in the playoffs.

For Aurora, BetBoom Team, BOOM Esports, and Blacklist International, the tournament is over. Aurora and BetBoom could have qualified for the playoffs with just a bit more luck or skill, but BOOM and Blacklist looked quite weak relative to the other competitors.
If they don’t improve their game significantly or make some roster changes, their odds of winning anything this season are zero.
Aurora only lost one match, against Xtreme Gaming, but they also won just one, against Blacklist International. They couldn’t beat a single serious team at Elite League, which is a bad sign.
BetBoom was among the directly invited teams to this event, so their failure to qualify for the playoffs is a bit surprising. But then again, Spirit are in the same position. The other six teams that were directly invited are qualified for the playoffs.
