Elisa Masters Espoo: FURIA and Apeks are in the Grand Finale

Furia has ended HAVU’s run and moves on to the Elisa Masters Espoo Grand Final. The second game to reach the final is Apeks, who beat ENCE.

FURIA achieved significant success by making it to the Grand Final of an international LAN event after beating local team HAVU 2-0 on the Mirage and Nuke maps. This remarkable achievement marks the first final since the new additions of Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes.

FURIA’s recent successes are testament to the return of Andrei “arT” Piovezan to the role of primary game leader, which has obviously had a positive impact on the team. In particular, players Yuri “yuurih” Santos and Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato improved their performance and defeated both MOUZ and HAVU.

Finnish team HAVU, despite starting the tournament as underdogs, put in a good performance that put them at the top of Group A. However, their weaknesses became apparent in their clash with FURIA, which put an end to their fairytale run to the top.

FURIA vs. HAVU

In the veto phase, FURIA were able to choose their preferred map Mirage, on which HAVU had previously lost five times. Nuke, however, showed that FURIA can dominate even unexpected maps, building an 11-0 lead with a strong defense that crushed the home team’s hopes.

While HAVU initially drew level on Mirage, their play collapsed after losing two critical rounds. KSCERATO dominated the game, sealing the first half with a lead for his team. The outstanding performance of yuurih, who eliminated four opponents in one go, put the icing on the cake.Mirage ended with 13:7. The Finns also struggled on Nuke and quickly found themselves trailing, while KSCERATO shone with excellent stats. Although Nuke had been a safe map for HAVU so far, there was no chance of a turnaround in the match against FURIA – they sealed HAVU’s fate by winning the second pistol round. FURIA won the map with a dominant 13:1 and the match 2:0.

Apeks vs. ENCE

Apeks made it to the final of the Elisa Masters Espoo, beating ENCE with a clear 2-0 victory.For ENCE, it means elimination from the tournament in a shared third place. This was their first outing with new members Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander and Jakub “kuben” Gurczynski, after just one week of preparation. Apeks, led by Tim “nawwk” Jonasson, proved to be too tough a test for ENCE. Already on their own map selection Vertigo they could not convince; especially the terrorist side collapsed under the strong defense of Apeks. The first map ended 13-7.

It was more even on Anubis. Despite a 10-5 lead for ENCE, Apeks was able to turn the game around, helped by important kills from Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad. Apeks won Anubis 13-11.
