Elisa Masters Espoo 2023 is an A-tier CS2 event that features eight strong teams and offers $200.000 in prizes. The winner receives half of the amount or $100.000.

The competition lasts just five days, between November 29 – December 3. As in previous years, the event takes place in Finland.

Competitive format

The format of the tournament is very simple. The competition starts with two groups of four teams. Apart from the opening matches, which are best-of-one, and the Grand Final, which is a best-of-five, every other match is a best-of-three series.

The group format is double-elimination. This means that each team will have two tournament lives. The best two competitors from each group advance to the playoffs, which will have two semifinals and one Grand Final.

Group A participants

Here are the four teams that will compete in group A of Elisa Masters Espoo 2023:

  • ENCE
  • Fnatic
  • GamerLegion
  • HAVU Gaming

Among them, ENCE and GamerLegion are the favorites. Fnatic also have the potential to qualify, but they recently changed their roster and it’s doubtful that they’ve learned how to play as a cohesive group in just a few days.

In the case of ENCE, everyone is eager to see what they can do now that they’ve changed their IGL and brought in gla1ve from Astralis. This new roster has the potential to be one of the world’s best. The previous one certainly was, as demonstrated by their 2023 results. But the new one could climb even higher and become a veritable top three team.

The opening matches are ENCE vs. HAVU, and GamerLegion vs. Fnatic.

Group B participants

In group B, the teams are very prestigious:

  • Apeks
  • Complexity
  • FURIA Esports
  • MOUZ

Apeks made three roster changes recently, so you shouldn’t expect them to win. In fact, given the level of competition, it’s hard to be optimistic about their chances of qualifying for the playoffs. The favorites are Complexity and MOUZ, followed by FURIA.

For Complexity, the last few months have shown us why they’re a top five team. As for MOUZ, they’re currently ranked third in the world, so their odds of advancing are very high.

FURIA are ranked 16th, but FalleN’s presence gives them the experience to be much better than their current position.

The opening matches will be MOUZ vs. Apeks, and Complexity vs. FURIA. This will likely result in a MOUZ vs. Complexity winners match.
