Elephant Is Now The Strongest Team in China

Elephant was created just 10 weeks ago. And in this brief period of time, they have become China’s strongest team. Not that long ago this statement would have been an exaggeration. But these days it’s not. After winning OGA Dota PIT Season 4: China, a tournament that featured the strongest competitors in the region, it’s quite reasonable to assume that Elephant is better than its regional rivals and will likely consolidate its number 1 position in the coming months.

OGA Dota PIT Season 4: China Results

OGA Dota PIT Season 4: China started well for Elephant, even though they didn’t finish 1^st in their group. Two powerful opponents did extremely well during this stage. One was Vici Gaming (Group A) and the other was PSG.LGD (Group B). Elephant played in Group B, where it suffered a crushing defeat against PSG.LGD but managed to beat the other two teams, Aster and Invictus Gaming. The complete results were the following:

Group A

• 1^st: Vici Gaming: 3 W – 0 L
• 2^nd: EHOME: 1 W – 2 L
• 3^rd: Royal Never Give Up: 1 W – 2 L
• 4^th: Team MagMa: 1 W – 2 L

Group B

• 1^st: PSG.LGD: 3 W – 0 L
• 2^nd: Elephant: 2 W – 1 L
• 3^rd: Team Aster: 1 W – 2 L
• 4^th: Invictus Gaming: 0 W – 3 L

After these results, MagMa and IG were eliminated, Vici Gaming and PSG.LGD advanced to the second round of the Upper Bracket, while the other 4 teams advance to the first.

Playoffs

In the Playoffs, Elephant defeated RNG and Vici Gaming before running into PSG.LGD again. And for the second time in the tournament, they lost. Both games ended rather quickly and Elephant was sent to the Lower Bracket, where they defeated EHOME and advanced to the Grand Final.

In the final match of the tournament, everyone expected PSG.LGD to lose. And not only because they had lost against PSG.LGD twice at OGA Dota PIT Season 4: China. The roster had too little experience in competing as a unit to beat the strongest team in the region. But, in spite of all the doubts, Elephant won with a score of 3 – 1 after losing game 1. Every game was beautiful and hard-fought. Games 3 and 4 were particularly beautiful because of the Brewmaster pick.
