For the past few years, Evil Geniuses has invested heavily in the NA region’s lower CS:GO, teams. The team’s mission has been to reinforce their lower teams with talent with hierarchy from different teams so they can move to their main roster when needed.

The North American organization has now decided to complete its main roster with their AWPer from the academy, 21-year-old Jerric “wiz” Jiang. This will be a golden opportunity to prove his worth, as he will debut in the BLAST Premier Spring Groups. This will be the player’s first international tournament.

EG’s new lineup

In 2022, Evil Geniuses signed a lineup of up to 15 players, including Astronauts and Carpe Diem members. This new lineup was known as “Blueprint,” According to the organization, it was “a plan to revitalize the North American CS: GO scene.”

This change in the starting lineup comes after several failed attempts to improve their positions in the different tournaments they participated. EG had a disappointing performance in the ESL Pro League S16, and their results in the IEM Rio Major were terrible. In addition, they finished between the 5th-8th place in the BLAST Premier Fall Americas Showdown.

Now, wiz arrives on EG’s starting roster to replace Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov, a player who was removed from the organization less than two weeks ago. This decision was made after Alan “Shakezullah” Hardeman, an experienced NA coach, joined the organization in early January.

About wiz

Jerric “wiz” Jiang is a 21-year-old player who has been flying under the radar of the CS:GO competitive scene since 2018. However, he also seems to be slowly making a big name in the North American scene.

Wiz previously played for EG Black. While it is true that his experience at the top competitive level is practically nil, his stats have increased year after year.

In addition to EG Black, wiz was part of Carpe Diem and RBG. While he hasn’t had a spectacular performance worth mentioning, this opportunity is golden to prove his worth. There is no doubt that EG is still betting on the NA competitive scene, and if wiz fits well in the team, he could help revive this region.

Moreover, with a 1.10 rating, the 21-year-old’s performance is an excellent addition to the team. His +248 K/D with EG Black has impressed fans.

What to expect from Evil Geniuses

On paper, the North American organization Evil Geniuses has made many changes to improve its roster. However, if the team turns these players into a solid core, it could be a significant step in getting the organization back on the winning track.

The Evil Geniuses lineup for 2023 is as follows:

  • Timothy “autimatic” Ta
  • Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte
  • Sanzhar “neaLaN” Iskhakov
  • Jadan “HexT” Postma
  • Jerric “wiz” Jiang
