The renowned esports organization, DSG, has opted to step back from its involvement with the VALORANT Game Changers due to ongoing concerns within the league.

Back in July 2023, DSG entered the Game Changers arena with an unaffiliated team. Their journey led them to secure a commendable position within the top 5 during the North American Qualifier, subsequently paving their way to the Game Changers Main Event.

However, their aspirations took a hit during the qualifiers for the Game Changers Championship. DSG faced a team later penalized for violating league regulations, thereby forfeiting DSG’s opportunity to compete in the year-end championship.

Anti-cheat Measures Pose Concerns for DSG

Following this setback, DSG showcased their resilience by participating in a year-end tournament. DisguisedToast, the CEO and visionary behind DSG, recently shared the organization’s trajectory for 2024.

In a statement released on December 20, DisguisedToast conveyed a decision to dissolve their VALORANT Game Changers squad. The announcement highlighted concerns with Riot Games’ prevailing anti-cheat protocols, which were perceived as inadequate for ensuring fair competition. DisguisedToast remarked, “In light of recent events and the challenges faced with Riot’s current anti-cheat measures, we feel the need to reassess our future involvement. As DSG operates independently, we believe it prudent to await enhanced security measures before re-engaging.”

Consequently, all personnel associated with DSG, inclusive of coaching staff, will explore opportunities as free agents during the off-season.

Riot’s Competitive Ruling Against Noot Noot Raises Eyebrows

The esports community was abuzz when Valorant NA’s official Twitter account disclosed a Competitive Ruling against Noot Noot, pinpointing a player flagged by Riot’s anti-cheat system.

The official statement read, “In the VCT Game Changers Series 3 contest between Noot Noot and Complexity GX3, the integrity of the match was jeopardized by Noot Noot.” In adherence to Game Changers’ guidelines, Noot Noot faced a match forfeiture, prompting Riot to initiate a comprehensive investigation.

Prior to this revelation, both teams were deadlocked at 1-1. However, an unforeseen delay ensued, lasting nearly two hours, culminating in an official verdict against Noot Noot.

DSG’s decision to step away from the Game Changers circuit underscores the imperative for rigorous integrity measures within esports. The community remains optimistic, anticipating enhancements in Riot’s anti-cheat framework to safeguard fair play.
