Eastern Europe was one of the DPC regions in which everything went according to plan, in the sense that the top three favorites qualified for the Bali Major.

This time, the winner was Team Spirit, which basically means that all of the three strong teams from EEU, Spirit, BetBoom Team, and 9Pandas, won a Tour this season.

After these results, 9Pandas, Team Spirit, and BetBoom Team are all in the top 12 of the DPC rankings table. The first two of these teams will almost certainly qualify for The International 12 even if they don’t get a top eight result at the Bali Major. BetBoom, however, will need to get some points there to avoid the regional qualifiers.

DPC rankings

Right now, BetBoom’s position is very fragile. The team has 760 points and is ranked 12th. 9Pandas has close to 1100, while Team Spirit has 1020. Anyone with more than 1160 points qualifies immediately at this point, simply because of the mathematical calculations.

Fortunately for BetBoom, even if they don’t qualify for The International by receiving a direct invitation, there’s nobody that can seriously challenge them in the regional qualifier. So they can be very relaxed, knowing that it’s not the end of the world if they don’t achieve something important.

However, if they do get a top eight result, this will allow a fourth team from Eastern Europe to go to The International 2023. So the whole region will probably cheer for them during the Bali Major.

Tour 3 results

In Tour 3 of DPC 2023, the results in Eastern Europe were very interesting. There were no upsets, but some of the big names struggled a lot. Darkside, the team of Vladimir “RodjER” Nikogosian, finished the Tour with seven consecutive losses. No doubt, the former Major champion will leave the organization and look for a better team in 2024.

Natus Vincere, who used to be a decent team regionally, finished with a record of 1 W – 6 L and will need to start the next season in Division II. This team used to be full of superstars. Now, the entire roster is made up of unknown players.

Virtus.pro, another big name in Eastern European Dota, finished 4th with a record of 4 W – 3 L. With a few upgrades to their roster, VP could do much better in 2024. As for TI12, if BetBoom qualify directly, VP will likely go to the event as well.
