Undoubtedly, 2023 has been a somewhat complicated year for the popular content creator, Disguised Toast and his foray into the competitive esports scene. At the beginning of the year, Toast announced its first men’s VALORANT team to participate in the VALORANT Challengers League NA, which was unsuccessful. However, everything seems to have aligned again for the content creator, as he might return to the VALORANT competitive scene.

Disguised Toast had a turbulent year regarding their VALORANT lineups, as the men couldn’t win a match and even lost their slot in the VCL NA. On the other hand, the GC lineup was also unsuccessful, which left the girls and especially the content creator in limbo.

Now, everything seems to indicate that he is planning a comeback, as he has asked his fans for any VALORANT trainers that are currently available.

Toast and his return to VALORANT

In the last few hours, content creator Disguised Toast published a post on his Twitter account asking his fans for the best VALORANT coach available. Also, in the post, Toast references that he is thinking about starting (again) a VALORANT team.

As we have mentioned, DSG had a disappointing step in the VLC NA, as they fell in all the matches they played and lost their slot in the Challengers scene. There is no doubt that this result came out of the blue. Considering that the team includes NA superstar Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker in its lineup. Earlier this year, yay was considered the best VALORANT player in the world in 2022, but after different problems with Cloud9, he did not have enough time to get a team in the VCT.

There is no doubt that this team, on paper, was a clear favorite to fight to take the VALORANT Challengers scene champions trophy in NA. However, the team could not build a solid synergy, losing every series and winning only two maps during the season.

DSG’s illusions ended at the Challengers Play-in Relegation; they fell in a couple of opportunities to fall completely out of the VALORANT Challengers scene in NA. As a result, this translates into a disappointing year for both the team and Toast, who bet a lot on this project.

Toast wants to replicate the success of its LoL team

A few weeks before the start of the LCS and the LoL Challengers scene in NA, Disguised Toast took the opportunity to join the Tier 2 scene in North America after many top-tier organizations paused their academy programs.

Throughout the tournament, the team was very strong, and, little by little, they established themselves as strong contenders; after an exceptional run in the playoffs, they managed to lift the NACL champions trophy. It is also worth noting that DSG’s VALORANT GC lineup finished in third place in their last tournament. As a result, Toast wants and needs to replicate this success in the VALORANT men’s scene.
