After a long dry spell, the famous Dota 2 player Danil “Dendi” Ishutin has finally won a tournament again. With his team B8, he was able to celebrate a narrow 3:2 victory against Team Tickles in the European Pro League final. It was not only the first success for B8 since its foundation in 2020, but also for Dendi personally, after four years without a tournament win.

After a dry spell of four years, Dendi managed to win a coveted title in the Dota 2 competition with his team B8. Through strategic adjustments and intensive training, the team was able to perform impressively and prevail against strong competition. Dendi’s use of Puck in the final was a key element to B8’s success. His ability to dictate the pace of the game and initiate crucial plays was instrumental in winning the championship.

Dendi dominates like at the beginning of his career

Despite being a smaller event with modest prize money, the EPL brought together some of Europe’s most exciting up-and-coming teams, including Team Tickles, KZ Team and Alliance. However, none of these teams have been able to stop B8 on their way through the Upper Bracket.

Since its inception, B8 has experienced ups and downs under Dendi’s leadership. Despite some challenges, the team has worked with tenacity and dedication and established itself in the esports market.

In an exciting final, B8 and Tickles battled through a series of games that saw ever-changing winners.

Each team won consecutive games, but it came down to the deciding fifth game. Dendi put in an impressive performance, reminiscent of his earlier days of glory. He played puck and achieved an impressive statistic of 13 kills without dying himself and an additional 15 assists.

With Dendi, the core B8 team was able to defeat Tickles. They achieved a remarkable advantage within 43 minutes. The series, which lasted more than four hours in total, gave B8 a profit of 5,000 dollars and gave fans reason to hope for the upcoming open qualifiers in 2024. With the elimination of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC), teams are facing more qualifiers than ever before. The best-of-one qualifiers are known for surprise wins, and B8 is now the center of attention for many teams in the highly competitive European region ahead of the resumption of the competitive season. The exclusion from the DPC has hit teams like B8 particularly hard, as the league system had previously brought a certain stability to the Dota 2 scene. Teams outside of the top tier have usually placed a high value on this stability, but thanks to a new partnership with the Kick platform, B8 should be better equipped to meet the challenges ahead.
