Last Friday, one of the oldest players still active on the CS:GO servers, Australian Ricardo “Rickeh” Mulholland, announced his retirement from the competitive scene of Valve’s shooter.

According to Rickeh, this decision comes after being removed from a team’s lineup that has yet to be announced.

Rickeh retires from CS:GO

The former Renegades, Complexity, CLG, and Rogue player has announced, via a Twitlonger, his retirement from the competitive CS:GO scene.

As mentioned, Rickeh notes that he decided to “hang up the mouse” after he was removed from the lineup “out of nowhere” of this yet-to-be-announced team.

About a month ago, Rickeh revealed in a Tweet that he had quit his full-time job to dedicate and commit to a new team, only to be removed from the lineup out of the blue.

“I quit my full-time job to return and commit to a team I got offered to play in assuming it would be a mutual commitment. Things were going well putting in max hours IGLing and out of nowhere I get swapped out and now I am full fucked. LFT for major any role AWP preferred.”

Now, the player has decided to end his CS:GO career, and on his Twitlonger, he took the opportunity to say goodbye and leave some very emotional words.

“I’ll start by saying I will never forget this amazing game and the places it has taken me in my life. Counter-Strike will always be in my heart and deep inside me haha I said deep inside me.”

“I met so many amazing people from this career travelling and making new friends from all over the world. I was also very lucky to have met my beautiful wife from the places this game allowed me to visit.”

About Rickeh

Rickeh was part of ORDER (2020-2022) and Team Aftershock (2022) for the past three years. However, the 31-year-old veteran Australian player made his name mainly in his early days in CS:GO. In 2015 he made the leap to the international scene with Immunity, a team that was disbanded in 2019. With this team, he managed to dispute two Majors in 2015.

Thanks to his good performances, in 2016, he was signed by Renegades, a lineup he shared with legends Justin “jks” Savage and Aaron “AZR” Ward. From there, the player focused on the NA scene and was part of CLG, Rogue, and Complexity.

There is no doubt that his most important results were:

  • Second place at DreamHack Open Austin 2018.
  • Qualification for FACEIT Major 2018, IEM Katowice 2019, and StarLadder Major 2019.

Now that the player has decided to hang up the mouse for good from Fragster, we wish him the best of success in his future. Whether inside or outside of esports, we wish him that all his projects are completed and that, one way or another, we will see him again inside the servers with his AWP.
