As we all CS:GO lovers already know, two days ago it was announced the official release of Counter-Strike 2 a game that will arrive in a free update of the current game in summer 2023. In addition, the developers allowed many players, mostly professionals and streamers, access to the game’s beta. All with the simple reason for these to test the game and give feedback to make the game as optimal as possible at launch.

However, some players who received access to the CS2 beta report that Valve may be working on a sequel for another of their historical titles. Finally, some players discovered some hints that reference Left 4 Dead 3.

Valve seems to see the future with its older games

First, we all know that when we talk about Valve, we talk about extremely famous and popular titles like CS:GO and Dota 2. However, it should also be noted that video games like Team Fortress 2 and those AAA ones like Half-Life and Left 4 Dead should be put in this bag. On the other hand, Valve has not been a success machine, no more and no less, as they have also released some games like Artifact and Dota Underlords that have not been a hit.

On the other hand, we can also see that Valve has taken a different approach with each of its titles. CS:GO originated from Counter-Strike 1.6 and CS: Source. On the other hand, Dota 2 comes from one of Warcraft III’s maps, called DotA. However, these two video games have been in constant evolution and even more so after the development of the Source 2 engine.

But, if we look at games like Half-Life 2 and Left 4 Dead 2, we see that they have been forgotten, as Valve, until now, has not released a sequel to these games that still have a large player base. However, after some discoveries in the last few hours, it seems that Valve has realized that their future is in the past (as strange as this sounds), as some details of a possible Left 4 Dead 3 have been revealed.

Left 4 Dead 3 spotted in CS2 files!

As we can see, a line of code shown in the image points to “left4dead3” in some CS2 files. However, this is not new to the community of this video game, as Left 4 Dead 2 was in development and production for a long time before the Source 2 engine was finished.

This is not the first time this has happened to this title

Just like CS2, which was from rumor to rumor for several years, Left 4 Dead 3 has been in the same for a while now, especially in 2019, when some images of the game were leaked.

On the other hand, on several occasions, Valve also stressed that Left 4 Dead 3 was not in development, and many rumors point to the fact that this was suspended in 2017 due to the state in which Source 2 was at the time.

Now, if you are a fan of this video game and you have years waiting for a sequel, it only remains, as has happened with Counter-Strike 2, to wait for the official announcement by Valve. Unfortunately, thousands of images and codes of CS2 were also leaked before the developers finally confirmed it.
