The new version of Valve’s most beloved title Counter-Strike 2, is currently in a testing phase. The objective of the sequel to Valve’s popular multiplayer shooter is at least to maintain the game’s quality and reawaken all players’ interests who have migrated to other titles. However, Valve must add certain adjustments and new features that differentiate it from Global Offensive to achieve its goal.

With that in mind, the game developers have implemented many improvements with the Source 2 engine; however, that’s not all; it has recently been reported that Counter-Strike 2 will include support for NVIDIA Reflex to minimize latencies.

Counter-Strike 2 to feature NVIDIA Reflex support

Latency concerns for many gamers have increased due to the expansion of online multiplayer gaming and the increasingly competitive gaming environment. Ultimately, latency can be a deciding factor for serious gamers about their games.

This is where NVIDIA Reflex comes in, an end-to-end SDK created specifically with esports in mind. This SDK helps reduce the time between player input via keyboard and mouse and the display of the result on the monitor, passing through the GPU and CPU throughout this process.

A much shorter render queue can shorten the delay between a player’s input and the game’s response; the CPU can sample the mouse, keyboard, or controller inputs in the last millisecond.

According to NVIDIA, the technology they offer with “NVIDIA Reflex” can reduce latency by up to 35%.

NVIDIA Reflex is already being used in different titles

Currently, this technology, offered by NVIDIA, is already being used in different titles such as VALORANT and Fortnite; however, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive does not support NVIDIA Reflex.

Now, in the new version of the game, Valve will offer a feature that the most competitive players can highly demand. But on the other hand, the addition of NVIDIA Reflex to the game demonstrates the dominance that NVIDIA is achieving in this segment of the esports industry.

One of the most important aspects to consider for Counter-Strike 2 is the system requirements. However, for Global Offensive, they are low due to the game’s age.

Fortunately, the GeForce GTX 900 series graphics cards, which debuted in 2014, support NVIDIA Reflex. However, it is important to note that all people who want to take advantage of NVIDIA Reflex; should use a monitor with a minimum refresh rate of 120 Hz; if the frequency may be higher will be a much better gaming experience.
