The third and final week of the online qualifiers for the CLD Major V began this weekend, and we have Florida Mutineers, Minnesota RØKKR, and NY Subliners taking excellent victories.

On the other hand, it is worth noting that London Royal Ravens and LA Thieves are two teams that will start the main event from the Elimination Bracket, as neither of them will be able to finish inside the TOP 8 of the table.

Let’s look at what happened at the start of Week 3 of the CDL 2023 Stage 5 Major Qualifiers.

Mutineers get a clean sweep over Ravens

Florida Mutineers have woken up in this fifth stage of the Call of Duty League 2023 season, and with this 3-0 win over London Royal Ravens, they managed to put their record at 3-1. As a result, the team secured a main event start in the Winners Bracket.

Florida Mutineers began their excellent clean sweep of the Ravens at Al Bagra Fortress (Hardpoint) with a crushing 250-111 victory. The Ravens then tried to wake up to even the series 1-1 at El Asilo (Search&Destroy), but the Mutineers came out on top and managed to take the 6-2 victory.

Finally, Himmelmatt Expo (Control) was the venue that saw the Mutineers crush the Ravens 3-0 to claim their third win in a row in these Major V qualifiers.

Minnesota RØKKR deal another blow to LA Thieves

The champion’s curse haunts the Call of Duty League stages in its 2023 season. LA Thieves continue to be unable to win a game in these online qualifiers for Major V and, with an 0-4 record right now, they will have to play every do-or-die game in next week’s main event.

Benjamin “Bance” Bance and Kevin “Fame” Bonanno took it upon themselves to crush the reigning CDL champions (in Major IV) at Mercado Las Almas (Hardpoint) by a score of 250-123. In the second game, the Thieves woke up at Breenbergh Hotel (Search&Destroy) and beat the RØKKR 6-2. With this victory, it looked like the series would be extremely even.

However, the RØKKKR ensured that this would not be the case, as they claimed a 3-1 victory at Himmelmatt Expo (Control) and 250-217 at Al Bagra Fortress (Hardpoint) to seal their 3-1 series win. Thanks to this win, the RØKKR keep their hopes of qualifying for the CDL Championship alive.

NY Subliners apply reverse sweep against Seattle Surge

Seattle Surge shocked the Subliners in the first game of the series with an excellent victory at Embassy (Hardpoint) by 250-196. However, this did nothing but wake up the Subliners boys for the rest of the series as they pulled off a flawless reverse sweep.

However, El Asilo (Search&Destroy) was the stage that served as the opener for the Subliners’ comeback in this series, as they pulled out a tight 6-5 win that gave them some breathing room and, more importantly, the motivation to face the rest of the games in the series. Then, at Breenbergh Hotel (Control) and Zarqwa Hydroelectric (Hardpoint), the Subliners posted 3-1 and 250-153 wins, respectively, to complete the reverse sweep and take the 3-1 series victory.
