The MLBB Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023 will take place in Cambodia in June, making it the first time the nation will host an international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competition.

The Esports Federation Cambodia (EFC) and MOONTON Games, the publisher of MLBB, have joined forces to co-promote the development of the Cambodian esports industry. Under this agreement, the two hope to improve the nation’s competitive gaming scene.

As part of the agreement, Cambodia will host two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports competitions. The MLBB medal event at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) will be the first of two competitions, while the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023 will be the second.

All Participating Regions at MSC 2023:

Teams from North America (NA), the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Turkey will join the MSC this year for the first time, making it a truly international event. With these additional additions, there will be a total of 12 teams competing at MSC 2023, representing countries including Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Burma, the Mekong region, North America, the Middle East, and Turkey.

Two teams from Indonesia and the Philippines, the winners and runners-up of their respective MLBB Professional Leagues, will compete at the MSC. The MPL winners from Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, and the MENA region will be given direct invitations to MSC, while the representatives from the Mekong, Myanmar, North America, and Turkey will be decided through qualifiers and regional competitions.

The MLBB competition at the SEA Games will take place from May 10 through May 15, while the MSC will run from 10 to 18 June. The most recent MSC was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in June 2022 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.

The Philippines is the defending champion in both the MSC and the SEA Games MLBB events. RSG won the previous MSC edition, and Blacklist International led the Philippines to victory in the biennial meet last year.

MLBB is set to deliver another action-packed season

The MSC has been a cornerstone of the MLBB esports circuit ever since Jakarta, Indonesia, played home to the inaugural edition of the event in 2017, and the addition of new regions will only expand the tournament’s popularity even further.

According to MOONTON, the MSC’s growth won’t stop with the addition of three more regions in 2023 as the developer expects that the competition will eventually grow to include a global midseason tournament.

Starting with the MSC 2023, MOONTON has scheduled multiple international MLBB contests for this year. After several action-pack MLBB events, the M5 World Championship, which will be held in the Philippines in December 2023, will conclude the season.
