Dota 2 Patch 7.30 Bugs

Usually, Dota 2 patches give us a smooth transition from one state of the game to the next. But Dota 2 patch 7.30 is quite different. Lots of people are signaling all kinds of bugs and i-League 2021 Season 2 had to postpone its matches because the Captains Mode is no longer working properly. Everyone is wondering what’s going on at Valve right now.

The Infinite Meepo Clones Bug

Dota 2 patch 7.30 now allows Meepo players to get infinitely many close using a bugged interaction of spells. This has already been demonstrated by reputable players like Xcalibur. Until it gets fixed, some people may either win or lose a lot of MMR as a result. And honestly, I find it strange that Valve released this patch with such obvious bugs in it.

What’s even stranger is the fact that they’re not rolling back the system to its previous patch until the bugs are removed. This is a risky way of handling things. A game as important as Dota 2 should always have a functional version running on the main client, not one that’s waiting to be fixed. This situation gives the “game’s still in beta” meme a lot more credibility.

Allegedly, apart from the Meepo bug, there are several other hero bugs. But it’s not yet clear whether these bugs are real or if people are just manufacturing them in some artificial manner.

The Captains Mode Bug

As you probably know, every official match uses the Captains Mode. But after Dota 2 patch 7.30 was released, players realized that Captains Mode is now broken. In some tournaments, the teams have agreed to use All Pick instead. But in others, the matches had to be postponed until the bug gets fixed. Given the severity of the situation, Valve should immediately roll back the changes and simply utilize patch 7.29 for a few more days.
