Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 is scheduled to be released on April 12 and will include exciting new game modes, operators, and weapons.

Modern Warfare 2 Warzone 2 will get its next significant content update with the release of Season 3, which is expected to bring new weapons, operators, and game modes. With an April 12 release date set in stone, Season 3 is anticipated to bring a tonne of fresh content to breathe new life into a game that is ostensibly losing players. A teaser video posted on the official Call of Duty Twitter account revealed more details about the upcoming Season and the exciting content coming with it.

Everything we know about MW2 Season 3

New Operator and Sniper Rifle

Two new Operators, Alejandro and Valeria, will be added in the Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 update. Players will be able to unlock them from the campaign by purchasing the Battle Pass. The Season 3 Battle Pass will also include Intervention, the iconic Sniper Rifle from 2009’s original Modern Warfare 2 title.

New game modes

A new game mode called Gunfight will return with Season 3 according to Infinity Ward. Gunfight made its debut in 2019’s Modern Warfare and offers lightning-fast encounters with teams of one to three players engaged in combat.

The Resurgence mode for Warzone 2 will launch in Al Mazrah at the start of Season 3, and later in the season, Plunder and Ranked Play will make their long-awaited battle royale debuts. Although the multiplayer maps from Season 2 didn’t live up to expectations, the Season 3 previews indicate that more maps will be released soon.

New maps

Two new 6v6 maps, Pelayo’s Lighthouse, and Black Gold, are coming to Modern Warfare 2 with Season 3. The new season will also include two new battle maps, Sattiq Cave Complex, and Rohan Oilfields, while the Season 3 Reloaded update will bring an additional new 6v6 map, Alboran Hatchery.

The new 6v6 map Pelayo’s Lighthouse for Modern Warfare 2 has a very gloomy ambiance with loads of fog, rain, and darkness. Since it was seen in a Season 3 teaser, it can be safely assumed that it will certainly appear with the new season update.

Black Gold, meanwhile, marks Modern Warfare 2’s first step into night vision and brings the well-liked Call of Duty feature back into the modern game. For those who have played Call of Duty for a long time, the Sattiq Cave Complex Battle Map will be a familiar appearance as it introduces the traditional Afghan terrain to Modern Warfare 2.
