After Toronto Ultra’s thrilling and historic CDL Major III victory, the Call of Duty League continues its course, and in just a few weeks, we will have the actions of Major IV. Currently, there are only two more stages left in the calendar for the 2023 CDL season, which means that teams will have to play their hearts out in every single match from now on to finish as high as possible in the standings.

Undoubtedly, all teams will try to score as many CDL Points as possible in this Major IV, which will be played without the presence of the public since the organizers could not find a team that could take charge of the organization.

Every match played from now on is worth gold for each team, but the Bounty Matches, without a doubt, add an ingredient to this mix.

Bounty Matches return to the CDL

That extra ingredient we mentioned returns to the Call of Duty League for this season’s Major IV and V qualifiers.

As we can see, it will be $10,000 for each team that wins their respective Bounty Match. In addition, all teams will have one Bounty Match per week. However, in addition to the prize money, these matches award 10 CDL Points to the winners, which makes teams take these matches much more seriously.

Schedule of Bounty matches in the Major IV Qualifiers – Week 2

Friday, April 7

  • London Royal Ravens vs. Boston Breach
  • Seattle Surge vs. Florida Mutineers
  • Minnesota RØKKR vs. New York Subliners

Saturday, April 8

  • OpTic Texas vs. New York Subliners
  • Toronto Ultra vs. Atlanta FaZe

Sunday, April 9

  • Los Angeles Guerrillas vs. Las Legas Legion

Battle for the COD Championship

Undoubtedly, all the teams have only one goal to qualify for the COD Championship, in which only eight of the twelve teams that belong to the CDL will get their ticket.

Qualifying teams are defined according to their position in the overall standings after Major V. Atlanta FaZe leads the standings. Still, Toronto Ultra has closed the gap on them after their victory in Major III.

While the teams at the top of this table are all but assured of a spot in the COD Championship, the Bounty Matches give the teams extra motivation for the last two stages.

We expect an IV Major full of emotions. In addition, we all expect to know if OpTic Texas can be crowned after an excellent performance in Major III. But, on the other hand, Atlanta FaZe continues at an impressive level of play, while the Ultra has, slowly and without making much noise, have been among the best.

Only two weeks separate us from the start of the online qualifiers for Major IV, and the teams are already preparing to give their best and match or exceed their expectations.
