The different movements continue in the competitive scene of VALORANT at this time, in the offseason of VCT 2023. This time, Global Esports announced the signing of one of the best Indonesian Starters ahead of VCT 2024, Gary “blaZek1ng” Dastin.

Undoubtedly, this is a great move for this Indian organization that is revamping its VALORANT lineup. Furthermore, the signing of blaZek1ng is a sign that the organization is clear that they must have a solid team to improve their terrible 2023 season.

Global Esports announce blaZek1ng as a new player ahead of VCT 2024

Through a post on their Twitter account, Global Esports announced their new signing this VCT offseason, blaZek1ng, one of Indonesia’s best Initiators.

blaZek1ng comes from playing with BOOM Esports, and many VALORANT fans, especially Pacific, will remember this player for his time in VCT Champions 2022. However, he showed his best level recently when his team played in the VCT Ascension Pacific 2023 semifinals. Likewise, Boom Esports and blaZek1ng could not defeat BLEED, who were the tournament winners.

Despite being unable to lead his team to qualify for the VCT Pacific League, blaZek1ng’s performances, level of play, and skills make him one of the best Starters in the region.

On the other hand, Global Esports seems to be finalizing a fully mixed lineup heading into VCT 2024. As a result, we have that it is a totally different approach than the one they used in 2023, where they united Korean and Indian promises but did not have the success that everyone would like.

Likewise, the organization intends to keep its Indian base, as they are now combining it with players from Singapore and Indonesia. Also, let’s remember that Paper Rex’s lineup has players from these countries, so it is not a surprise that the rest of the teams are looking for talents in them.

Other Global Esports signings

Similarly, Global Esports started their 2023 offseason by signing Benedict “Benkai” Tan, a former Paper Rex player. However, they then announced the return of Abhirup “Lightningfast” Choudhury and finally surprised with the signing of Russel “Russ” Mendes.

On the other hand, speaking specifically about blaZek1ng, we have to mention that although he became popular for his Initiator skills with Sova in 2023, he had to make some changes. Playing for BLOOM Esports, blaZek1ng had a much more flexible role, as he had to play as Sentinel and Controller for much of the season.

In addition, it is also fair to mention that throughout his pro career, blaZek1ng has played almost 60% of his games with Sova. However, at VCT Ascension Pacific, he did not play a single game as a Starter.

Finally, now that he is joining the ranks of Global Esports, where they have two Sentinels like Benkai and Russ, he will most likely return to his Initiator origins with Sova or assume the role of Controller. Similarly, it will all depend on the final signing of the team.

GE will likely look for an experienced player with a much stronger squad for VCT 2024. In any case, we will be attentive to all the official information from the Pacific organization.
