The winners of ESL One Cologne are staring at a second loss in EPL, this time at the hands of AGO. ENCE and BIG were able to acquire wins yesterday and have secured top spots in ESL Pro League – for now.

AGO 2-1 HEROIC

Let’s jump right into the most interesting duel of the evening. Less than a week ago, the Danes dismantled Vitality for the Cologne trophy. Just a day later, their coach was suspended for abusing the now infamous coaching bug. While he didn’t use it at the mega-event, he was still found guilty for other competitions and admitted it as well. Now, Heroic are playing without a coach – and it shows.

Earlier this week, they lost to ENCE in a relatively close match. Yesterday, they gave up the first map against AGO and played two overtime games afterwards, both ending in 19-17. Unfortunately, the last one didn’t go in their favor. The Polish team took home the win and Heroic are now sitting on a 0-2 track record right next to GODSENT and OG.

BIG 2-0 OG

Speaking of OG, Aleksi “Aleksib” Viroulainen and the boys just can’t catch a break. They previously lost an incredible narrow match to G2 Esports. Going up against BIG, they conceded the first map on an 11-16 scoreline. Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangsa struggled to get into the game, which he totally made up for on the second map. Unfortunately, they had to concede a hard-fought Dust2 to BIG, after reaching 14 points. On one hand, It’s good to see them get this close to the other top teams. On the other hand, they desperately need to close these games out. Otherwise, we’ll see plenty of 14-point-losses in the coming few weeks.

ENCE 2-0 NAVI

We didn’t even think that seeing Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev without a positive rating was an option. Well, Aleksi “allu” Jalli and his colleagues proved us otherwise! Yesterday, the Finns played beautiful and carefully executed Counter-Strike, Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen in particular set himself on top of map #1. On Dust2, he struggled quite a bit, just like s1mple. In his place, however, allu and Miika “sunny” Kemppi took over the fragging duties and secured 27 and 23 kills, respectively, for the 16-12 victory. This 0-2 loss is obviously not a great sign for Natus Vincere, ENCE however are already securing vital points in the standings. While they are probably not looking to win this group, they will at least make sure to get a playoffs spot.

OG are going up against AGO tomorrow, a duel in which they desperately need to collect some points. BIG won’t have an easy time with NaVi, but the Germans are once again looking hot. Additionally, we’ll see Spirit and Vitality clash in Group B – but you can already imagine who will likely come out on top in this affair.
