BLAST Premier: World Final starts on December 13 and will last until December 17. For five days, eight of the world’s best CS2 teams will entertain the Abu Dhabi fans, as well as hundreds of thousands of viewers from around the world.

The tournament offers a total of $1 million. The winner gets $500.000 while the runner-up gets $250.000. Needless to say, with so much money on the table, the battle will be fierce and everyone will want to compete in the Grand Final.

Competitive Format

BLAST Premier: World Final uses a very simple format: two groups of four followed by single-elimination playoffs. What’s great about this format is that three teams from each group will get the opportunity to advance to the playoffs. The winners go directly to the semifinals, while the 2nd and 3rd place teams go to the quarterfinals.

The only problem is that in each group, every single competitor is a world-class team. Or at least, it’s a team with a formidable reputation. In reality, ENCE and Natus Vincere will probably struggle in group A, while Heroic and G2 Esports will struggle in group B. It’s almost guaranteed that two of these four teams will be out of the race after the first two days.

Group A favorites

In group A, Team Vitality don’t seem to have a lot of competition. Their only strong rival will be Cloud9, who are now led by Boombl4 and represent 60% of the former Natus Vincere roster that won a Major. If the atmosphere inside the team is good, this group of players can achieve a lot together because their potential is incredible.

But at this point, they are not at ZywOo’s level. Vitality should win, followed by C9 and either Na’Vi or ENCE. Both of these last two teams have looked a bit shaky in recent months.

Group B favorites

In group B, FaZe Clan have successfully replaced Twistzz with frozen and will likely win the first two matches. MOUZ, despite losing frozen, are also quite strong at the moment.

G2 and Heroic are not doing well. Heroic, in particular, are currently rebuilding the roster and they’re trying to do it with players who are not at cadiaN’s level. For G2, the problem is of a different nature. The coach is about to leave and nexa still has a long way to go to fully learn the team’s system.
