Bilibili Gaming and Edward Gaming secured their spot at the Valorant Champions 2023 after dominating the VCT China Qualifier 2023.

Two Chinese Valorant powerhouse Bilibili Gaming and Edward Gaming have advanced to the upper bracket final of the VCT China qualifier 2023, punching their ticket to the final global Valorant event of the year. Both teams performed exceptionally well in the upper bracket of the qualifiers, having reached the finals without dropping a single map across the event.

On the other side, TYLOO and FunPlus Phoenix will fight in lower bracket finals to grab the third available spot for Champions. At the Champions, which will take place in Los Angeles, California, the three Chinese teams will be joined by five EMEA teams, four Americas teams, and four Pacific league teams

Edward Gaming make it to back to back international Valorant event

After winning both of their matches in the Chinese qualifier, Edward Gaming qualified for the Champions 2023, their back-to-back international Valorant event, and the fifth international event overall. The team first annihilated Team Weibo on Fracture and Bind to secure a convincing 2-0  victory.

Edward Gaming’s star fragger, Zheng “ZmjjKK” Yongkang(Kang Kang), who put forth exceptions numbers at VCT Master Tokyo, stood out again for the team. Kang Kang racked up a total of 44 kills across the top map with a whooping Average Combat Score of 310.

In the upper bracket semifinals of the event, it was TYLOO’s turn to face the storm Kang Kang has brought with him from Masters ToKyo. Despite having a well-balanced team with heavy firepower, TYLOO was unable to counter ZmjjKK’s fragging prowess and tactical awareness, which helped Edward to a convincing 3-0 victory. ZmjjKK finished the series with a total of 67 kills and an ACS of 357 after picking up 18 kills on Split, 23 kills on Haven, and 26 kills on Bind.

Bilibili Gaming set to make international debut at the VCT Champions 2023

Considered the underdogs in the Chinease scene, Bilibili Gaming become the second Chinease team to qualify for the biggest Valorant event of the year. The squad easily defeated Monarch Effect 2-0 with Wang “whzy” Hao Zhe’s assistance, surpassing them on Lotus 13-10 before crushing them on Haven 13-7.

Taking their momentum into the second match, Bilibili utterly dominated Trace Esports in the best-of-five series to punch their ticket to Los Angeles. With 54 kills, whzy once again stood up for the team, but this time his fellow teammate Yosemite Wang Lei was able to match his performance.
