BetBoom Dacha is one of the last two Dota 2 tournaments ahead of The International 12. The competition brings together eight of the best teams in Europe and America, and offers $250.000 in prize money.

For one week between September 10-16, Gaimin Gladiators, BetBoom Team, and others will delight us with their skills and show us how to play in the new meta.

The average viewer is probably below 3000 MMR, so everything that happens in these professional matches will serve as a valuable lesson. The action can be watched on Twitch or even from inside the game. The second option is great because it allows you to experience the games the same way as the players.

Here are the eight teams that will compete in the tournament:

  • Gaimin Gladiators
  • BetBoom Team
  • 9Pandas
  • Evil Geniuses
  • Beastcoast
  • TSM
  • Team Secret
  • Nigma Galaxy

Among these teams, the first three are vastly stronger than the rest. Two of them should play in the Grand Final if everything goes according to plan.

One thing to note is that Sumail “Sumail” Hassan will stand-in for Team Secret during the tournament. That might improve Secret’s chances and help them finish in the top four, despite failing to qualify for The International 12.

Both of the top two South American teams, Evil Geniuses and beastcoast, are in great shape at the moment and finished Dota Pro Circuit in the top 12. But they will probably play the game casually, without revealing too much about the preparation they are doing for The International.

Most of the teams who compete in BetBoom Dacha have a lot to hide. The current meta is almost guaranteed to remain unchanged until the start of TI12. This means that any overpowered strategy that has been discovered during training can be utilized to gain an important victory when it matters most. So why reveal it at a $250.000 event?

The only teams who will probably do everything in their power to win are Team Secret and Nigma Galaxy. Both of them failed to qualify for The International and will not play at DreamLeague S21 either. This means that they’re free to show us everything they know about the game.

By the time the new season will start, IceFrog will have launched a new major patch. And everything that’s true now about the game will no longer apply. So there’s no point in keeping secrets.
