After several months of inactivity, since Team Vitality relegated him to the team’s bench, five-time Major winner Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen joined Heroic for a limited time. Heroic announced the signing of the experienced Danish player until the end of this year.

Undoubtedly, this is great news for both dupreeh and the Counter-Strike community in general. The game legend makes his triumphant return to fill the shoes of another great Danish player at Heoric, Casper “cadiaN” Møller.

While inactivity may weigh on some players, Dupreeh’s experience and experience make us confident that he will give his best to bring Heroic back to the top of the CS2 competitive scene.

Heroic announces the signing of dupreeh

Through a post on its official Twitter/X account, Heroic announced the signing of game legend and winner of 5 Majors, dupreeh, as the fifth player.

Dupreeh will have a complicated task since he must replace the former IGL, captain, and leader of the Heroic project. However, we don’t know if dupreeh will have all the responsibilities of cadiaN in Heroic, but there is no doubt that this is a great addition for a team like Heroic that needs an experienced leader within the game.

It will be weird to see dupreeh with Heroic

As we mentioned, this signing may be very obvious in many ways since, let’s remember, Heroic is an organization that maintains its policy of having only Danish players on its roster. However, this does not take away from the fact that seeing dupreeh wearing his new team’s jersey is strange.

Let’s remember that dupreeh had his best level of play in those golden years when Astralis won it all between 2016/21, and, as we know, Astralis is Heroic’s main rival, both at home and in international competitions.

Similarly, we should remember that dupreeh is the only player in history to win 5 Majors in CS:GO, the last being the Paris Major last May. However, surprisingly, Team Vitality decided to bench him after this Major victory.

Before his signing with Heroic was confirmed, Heroic was very close to joining the veteran squad at TSM. However, talks came to nothing, and the player has been without a team ever since.

Heroic mentions in its official statement that dupreeh will be with the team until the end of the year. Similarly, all indications are that if dupreeh helps Heroic regain the top of the world rankings and lead them to victory in the upcoming tournaments, he may stay with the team indefinitely.
