The first tournament of the Riot Games franchise era, the VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo, has ended, and Fnatic has given the pleasant surprise of beating the local team LOUD 3-2 in the grand final.
It was an excellent tournament for many teams. Some exceeded expectations, while others simply showed a deficient level throughout their stay in Brazil and said goodbye very early.
Other teams, like 100 Thieves, managed to shine in their first two games of the tournament. However, in the quarterfinals, the team could not defeat the future champions, Fnatic, and lost with a 0-2. After that bang, on his return home, he published a Tweet where he apologized to his fans for the performance shown.
Bang apologizes for their performance at VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo 2023
After 100 Thieves was eliminated from the tournament by Fnatic with a crushing 0-2 in the quarterfinals, Sean “bang” Bezerra apologized through his Twitter account for his performance in the tournament. Bang said:
“Flying has given me a lot of time to think about our loss, so I wanted to apologize for what I showed in Lock In. That’s not my/our best. I will work hard to not disappoint next time we play internationally.”

100 Thieves had a relatively normal performance in this VCT LOCK//IN, as they beat EDward Gaming and FUT Esports. However, they were then crushed by Fnatic in the quarterfinals. After this defeat, several players apologized to their fans for letting them down, and Brenden “stellar” McGrath, IGL of 100T, said that their performance was “embarrassing.”
0-2 @FNATIC. pretty embarrassing performance from me but there was a lot to learn from the event. looking forward to getting the regular season started 🧙🏻♂️

VALORANT NA scene in debt at VCT LOCK//IN
Much has been said about the power in the NA region as far as VALORANT is concerned. However, none of the North American teams managed to qualify for the tournament finals stage. 100 Thieves and NRG Esports were eliminated in the semifinals by Fnatic and LOUD, the eventual finalists of the tournament.
As mentioned, 100T was crushed by Fnatic in their quarterfinal match, where they could only win one round on the first map before having a more acceptable result (13-10) on the second map. On the other hand, NRG Esports won a match against LOUD and then went to Overtime in the decisive map, but they still lost 1-2 and were sent home.
Remember that the last time 100T was crushed the way they were against Fnatic, the organization decided to change their entire roster. So, there is some expectation about what can happen from now on.
