Back in February this year, Endpoint decided to upgrade themselves and sign a new player: Frederick “Fessor” Sorensen. This CS:GO team tends to oscillate between 30th and 70th in the world but now they seem determined to break into tier-1.

The odds of that happening are a bit low, but one thing is certain: some of the players they have used to compete at that level and were pretty good too.

Endpoint’s results and ambitions

Endpoint was created in 2016 and has won a lot of B-tier tournaments over the years. Starting with 2019, ESL Premiership was their bread and butter. They also took part in all kinds of other events, such as HomeSweetHome, Insomnia, and ESEA Premier Division Europe.

Their highest achievement to date was the second place they got at Pinnacle Cup II in 2021. They lost the Grand Final against Team Spirit but their victory was still quite significant and did not go unnoticed.

The only problem is that since then, almost nothing happened for this esports organization and the management wants to obtain a lot more going forward.

The new version of Endpoint features a couple of very strong players, including the one and only Owen “smooya” Butterfield, who played for BIG, Movistar Riders, and Fnatic. For now he’s just a stand-in, but he might become a permanent member of the team if the ESL Premiership Spring results are promising.

The winner of this tournament will play in EPL S18 EU Conference, which is a direct qualifier for ESL Pro League Season 18. So we’re basically talking about an open qualifier for a closed qualifier.

Given their past successes, Endpoint should win the open qualifier without too many problems. And now that they announced smooya as a stand-in, their chances are really good. However, CS:GO is a team game, so a lot will depend on the form of the other players too.

Max “MiGHTYMAX” Heath has been the team’s IGL since 2020 and he’ll no doubt have a fun time competing alongside smooya. Both of them are from the UK, which should make the collaboration a lot easier.

It’s not yet known who the 12 participants of ESL Premiership Spring 2023 are. But we’ll find out very soon. Based on who else will compete in the tournament, Endpoint may have an easy run or a fairly stressful one. In principle, it shouldn’t be hard for them to win at this level.
