The Bali Major is down to its best six teams. On the third day of the playoffs, Azure Ray and beastcoast got eliminated.

For beastcoast, this elimination means little because they were already qualified for The International 12. But for Azure Ray, it marked the end of a very ambitious journey. Now they will need to win the Chinese qualifier to compete in TI12 and it will not be easy.

Two other teams that lost on the third day of the playoffs were Team Liquid and Quest Esports. Both of them are strong and will likely finish in the top four. In Quest’s case, they absolutely need to win their next match if they want to receive a direct invite to The International 12.

The problem is that they’ll play against PSG.LGD, the only team that managed to beat them in the group stage. This could end up badly for them. If it does, BetBoom Team will no doubt celebrate and send the Chinese roster a bottle of vodka.

Right now, it’s either BetBoom or Quest. BetBoom are currently ranked 12th but Quest Esports could steal their spot with just several more victories at the Bali Major.

PSG.LGD vs. Azure Ray: 2-1

This match started well for Azure, who won game 1 in just 32 minutes using a Naga Siren draft. But the next two games were a disaster. In particular, game 3 was practically over at the 10-minute mark. PSG.LGD’s Tinker had a phenomenal start and completely ruined Azure’s chances.

Beastcoast vs. 9Pandas: 1-2

This was another match that started with a game win for one of the teams and ended with the victory of the other. Beastcoast needed 60 minutes to win game one and 65 minutes to lose the next two games combined.

Team Liquid vs. Tundra Esports: 0-2

Liquid fought hard in this match but got defeated by a team with superior tactics. Both times, they had a huge gold lead and ended up losing it due to poor decisions. Game 2 was very exciting to watch because Tundra picked Meepo.

Gaimin Gladiators vs. Quest Esports: 2-1

This match proved that Quest Esports are a very strong team. But it also proved that Gladiators are likely the world’s strongest competitor at the moment. The most brutal of the three games was the third, which ended in just 23 minutes.
