Wang “Ame” Chunyu’s return to competitive Dota 2, after a year-long hiatus, marks a significant turn in his career.

His move from LGD Gaming to Xtreme Gaming (XG) is a noteworthy change, especially considering his long-standing seven-year association with LGD. This switch coincides with his team-up with Ding “Dy” Cong, the former Vici Gaming captain, as part of XG’s roster rebuild for the Dota 2 2024 season.

Ame’s Dota 2 journey is marked by several achievements and near-wins. Notably, he has been a runner-up twice in The International (TI) – once at TI8 with PSG.LGD, where they narrowly lost to OG, and again at TI10, where history repeated itself with a close defeat to Team Spirit. Additionally, his contributions led to a gold medal victory for China in Dota 2 at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou.

His sabbatical after PSG.LGD’s 5th-6th place finish at TI11 saw him focus on streaming and personal life. Now, his return to the competitive scene with Xtreme Gaming is met with high expectations and excitement, as fans and the community look forward to seeing how he will influence the Dota 2 landscape in the upcoming season.
